Manchester United have launched their new training kit ahead of the new Premier League season – but have suffered a financial hit.
Clubs often launch new kits in the summer ahead of the next campaign, with teams usually donning at least three new strips in a bid to sell shirts to fans.
The majority of sides, though, will also launch a training kit, which teams will be seen wearing during their preparation for matches – and also provides another chance for financial gain.
A brand will often sponsor the playing kits and another the training kit. For United, though, that is not the case.
The club had been in partnership with Blockchain company Tezos, which was worth around £24million a year. The deal, though, came to an end at the end of June.
And on Tuesday the club launched their new training kit without a new sponsor – meaning they are currently missing out on a huge chunk of revenue that may not be filled any time soon.

United held a £24m-a-year partnership with Tezos, but the agreement has now ended
According to the Manchester Evening News, United sources had indicated a new training kit sponsor would be agreed soon after Tezos’ deal ended, but the new shirt has launched without one.
United shared a series of photos of players in the new strip and other variations such as coats and jackets, including the likes of Luke Shaw, Mason Mount and Leny Yoro.
Alejandro Garnacho also featured in the promotion snaps, despite being essentially placed on the transfer list and linked with a move away.
It comes shortly after Marriott International’s sponsorship deal with United also ended – with the company, regarded as the biggest in the world in terms of the hotel industry – opting not to renew the contract that had run since 2019.
United chief Sir Jim Ratcliffe has been cutting costs since taking over football operations at the club, including a number of rounds of redundancies.
While there is reportedly no indication that United will find a training kit sponsor soon, they will be looking to recoup much of the money lost from the Tezos deal when they do so.
