The Manchester United man tagged the 35-year-old on his Instagram story, followed by emojis of a goat and a man pointing to his head.

Rashford has been in fine form this season, scoring 18 goals in 30 appearances for his club, having endured a difficult couple of years.

He seems rejuvenated under new manager Erik ten Hag, and his upturn in form means the celebration has come out pretty regularly this campaign.

Ten Hag, however, has refused to take credit for Rashford’s improvement’s insisting the progress is down to the player.

‘I’m not Harry Potter! he jokes. ‘It’s just confidence. Every player has to make and get his own confidence. He fought for this. He invested in this.

‘Of course, with my coaching staff, we bring in structures that give him routines that he needs to get into the right position.

‘But, finally, it’s up to him. When the player has the confidence then I’m convinced, in the way we are working, he can perform at his best.

‘It’s obvious that Marcus at this moment is in really good shape, really good form.’

The celebration is catching on, with it now evidently spreading into other sports as well as the lower leagues of the English football pyramid.
