Paul Pogba has held further discussions over a move to Monaco ahead of his return to football following a drugs suspension.

The free agent World Cup winner is moving towards a return to the French league side with a two-year contract proposal on the table.

Monaco hope to close the deal in the coming days.

Talks have been ongoing for a few weeks, with Pogba training ahead of pre-season as he plots his return to action.

Pogba saw his initial four-year drug ban slashed to 18 months in October 2024. He has been free to recommence his career since March.

In Court of Arbitration for Sport’s final judgement it was confirmed that Pogba did inadvertently take DHEA, a substance that boosts testosterone that is on WADA’s banned list.
