James Trafford starts for Man City against Tottenham - his second start in a row over Ederson

Pep Guardiola appears to have made a decision on his goalkeeper pecking order at Manchester City.

James Trafford starts Saturday’s game against Tottenham – his second Premier League start in a row – seemingly sealing his place as No 1 ahead of Ederson.

Trafford kept a clean sheet in his first start for City in a convincing 4-0 win against Wolves last week, and his efforts were clearly enough for Guardiola to favour him again.

Ederson, who has made 372 appearances for City, has been a cornerstone of Guardiola’s side for the past eight seasons.

But with just one year remaining on the Brazilian’s current contract, he has been strongly linked with a move away – and today’s decision may have marked the beginning of the end for him in Manchester.
