Kieran Gill scored a respectable four points

How did you fare against our expert in Daily Mail Sport’s unrivalled Predictor challenge in gameweek 17 of the Premier League?

This round of fixtures got going with Manchester United edging past Newcastle 1-0 on Boxing Day courtesy of Patrick Dorgu’s first-half stunner.

After that, we wanted you to predict seven games across Saturday and Sunday. The first saw Manchester City win 2-1 at Nottingham Forest in the 12.30pm Saturday kick-off.

EXPERT PREDICTIONS

Kieran Gill scored a respectable four points

Kieran Gill scored a respectable four points

N Forest v Man City – AWAY WIN  – 1 pt

Arsenal v Brighton – HOME WIN – 1 pt

Burnley v Everton – AWAY WIN – 0 pts

Liverpool v Wolves – HOME WIN  – 1 pt

West Ham v Fulham – AWAY WIN  – 1 pt

Chelsea v A Villa – HOME WIN  – 0 pts

Crystal Palace v Spurs – HOME WIN  – 0pts

The first of four 3pm predictions we asked saw Premier League leaders Arsenal emerge with a 2-1 win over Brighton.

The only goalless affair from our selected fixtures was at Turf Moor as Burnley versus Everton ended 0-0.

Reigning Premier League champions Liverpool saw off Wolves 2-1 – to heap more misery on the strugglers.

Wolves are in a relegation battle just like West Ham – who lost 1-0 at home to Fulham in a London derby.

Then from east London to west London, Aston Villa came from behind to win 2-1 at Chelsea as their breathtaking run of form continued.

Our final pick of games was from the last fixture of the round. Staying in London it was another derby in the English capital as Crystal Palace hosted Tottenham. However, it was the Eagles who had their wings clipped as the visitors triumphed 1-0.

How many of those did you get? Our nominated expert for the week, Kieran Gill, landed a respectable four points.

Jack Gaughan and Lewis Steele went one better with five, top scoring among our experts – and that takes Gaughan top of the season’s leaderboard by a single point from James Sharpe, who managed three this weekend.

Tom Collomosse matched that score, but Nathan Salt fell to third after scoring just one this time around.

Across the country, 12 players managed to get a full house and seven points.

Think that could be you? Come along and test your football brains. Predictor returns this coming weekend.
