Chelsea's Willian Estevao is among the top 10 teenagers in world football

The year 2025 has been a positive one so far for Chelsea and their future beyond this year looks bright too.

The Blues have had plenty to shout about after winning the Europa Conference League and the Club World Cup in a space of a couple of months this summer.

And according to CIES Football Observatory, they are well equipped for the future as they boast three of the world’s top-10 teenage talents.

The trio in question? Estevao Willian (fourth), Jorrel Hato (sixth) and next summer’s arrival Geovany Quenda (ninth).

CIES Football Observatory’s case study is based on performances from this calendar year and their own specific metrics which are then averaged out.

The first metric is the a performance index calculated from data by their partners Impect. The second is an experience index taking into account minutes played, weighted by the sporting level of the matches.

And topping these charts are Barcelona and Spain superstar Lamine Yamal with an average rating of 97.7.

Lamal has enjoyed a fine 2025, guiding Barcelona to their 28th Spanish top-flight in May – fittingly scoring the opening goal in a 2-0 win at local rivals Espanyol to clinch LaLiga.

As well as that he helped Barcelona win the Copa del Rey and Spanish Super Cup. Barcelona lost in the Champions League semi-finals to Inter Milan, but the forward was magnificent across both legs.

Second on this list is Yamal’s club and international team-mate Pau Cubarsi.

The defender cemented himself as a first-choice player at the start of last season for Barcelona and that carried into 2025.

The centre-back, who is four months older than Yamal, has a rating of 93.4.

Rounding out the top three is Paris Saint-Germain and France midfielder Warren Zaire-Emery.

The 19-year-old’s rating of 87.8 is off the back of a 2025 that has seen win him just the ‘small’ matter of four major honours to date – the third of that quartet being PSG’s maiden Champions League title with a thumping 5-0 win over Inter.

Chelsea new boy Estevao (86.7) comes in at fourth for his feats at his old club Palmeiras just ahead of fellow South American Franco Mastantuono (85.4). Like Estevao, Mastantuono is on the list for his exploits at old club River Plate, having just joined Real Madrid this summer.

The highly-promising Hato (84.0) showcased his talent at Ajax last term and he edges out Braga’s Roger Fernandes (83.9).

Arsenal’s rising talent Myles Lewis-Skelly (83.9) is joint-seventh on this list after a breakthrough campaign at Arsenal that also saw score on his England debut against Albania in March. In doing so at 18 years and 176 days old, he became the youngest England player to score on his senior debut, breaking the record previously held by Marcus Rashford.

Rounding out the top 10 are Quenda (83.8), who is joining Chelsea next season from Sporting, and Mexican starlet Elias Montiel (83.2) from Pachuca.
