Robert Lewandowski is ready to take drastic steps to force through his move from Bayern Munich to Barcelona this summer, according to reports.

The striker is believed to have agreed a two-year deal with the LaLiga giants, with the option of a third, but early attempts to exit his current club have proved fruitless.

It has been pointed out by Sport that Bayern are refusing to talk, and they have so far knocked back any interest from Barcelona, expecting the ace to see out his contract.

However, the same publication have claimed that Lewandowski will again act out publicly if the impasse continues, with the transfer saga threatening to boil over.

While the hold-up continues, the main objective of the parties will be to prevent the potential departure of the frontman from becoming an unsavoury soap opera.

Sport have added that Lewandowski has made it clear that he will not report for pre-season training over the coming weeks, and has instead urged Bayern to negotiate.

A conversation was held between the ace and his club in Mallorca, where he made it clear he has no plans to change his mind, and that he expects an amicable solution.

Bayern have taken note, but are yet to soften their stance.

On the other hand, Barcelona are hopeful Lewandowski will be able to join them and link-up with their squad for the start of their pre-season in the second week of July.

The next week could therefore prove decisive, and the Blaugrana may return with another offer in the hope that the talks can finally draw to a close.

At the Nou Camp, figures are surprised by the harshness of Bayern’s reluctance to offload their talisman, but understand it is a position to appease their supporters.

‘Robert has a contract until 2023. That’s how long he will play with us,’ Bayern Munich president Herbert Hainer has said, commenting on the drawn-out switch.

The club signed Sadio Mane from Liverpool as a potential replacement for the star.
