Roberto Firmino’s versatility, experience and physicality would make him a perfect signing for Juventus… Brazilian ‘is keen to leave Liverpool ahead of the World Cup’ and would be the perfect foil for Dusan Vlahovic

  • Serie A giants Juventus are reportedly keen to sign Liverpool’s Roberto Firmino
  • He wants to leave Anfield to pursue more playing time ahead of World Cup
  • Firmino would bring versatility, experience and more physicality to Juventus
  • He would also save the club money which they can use to sign Lenadro Paredes

Roberto Firmino is the surprise name Juventus have been working in silence to bring to Turin. The Brazilian is not just a striker able to deputise for Dusan Vlahovic but an excellent player across every attacking role.

According to ‘Corriere dello Sport’ Firmino wants to leave Liverpool before his contract expires in 12 months to be in great shape for the winter World Cup.

He wants to play regularly and not lose his brilliance and enthusiasm playing second fiddle to Darwin Nunez – the new striker chosen by Jurgen Klopp to guide the Reds to glory in the Premier League and in Europe.

In the city of Torino, Firmino is considered the most suitable player to inherit Mario Mandzukic’s multipurpose role: half attacker, winger in 4-3-3 or single centre forward.

Firmino has the feet of a playmaker capable of setting the manoeuvre and becoming a second juggler in the middle of the field. He’s also physically strong but at the same time very mobile in and out of the penalty area.

ALLEGRI’S IDEA

Massimilimo Allegri is looking for an intelligent partner for Vlahovic, aware that the star of the Serbian national team will play 90% of the matches in all competitions.

By his side or in his place you need an uninhibited striker and without tactical preclusions, a player who knows how to assist and speed up the dribble of the whole team without losing clarity in the penalty area.

Moise Kean is playing with great intelligence and the two goals scored against Barcelona are an excellent start to the season even if Juventus want to have a third man to minimise the risks of lacking goals in a fundamental season.

For this reason, Allegri initially asked the club to buy Marko Arnautovic or Alvaro Morata while understanding the financial difficulties of reaching at least one of the two market targets.

Firmino is the joker who has satisfied everyone in the deck of cards available to the club: the coach, the team and above all the CEO Arrivabene.

CEO ARRIVABENE PREFER TO SIGN FIRMINO AS MORATA IS DEEMED TO BE TOO COSTLY

There are many difficulties in bringing Morata back to the club and they are mainly linked to the excessive cost that Atletico Madrid is demanding.

According to ‘SportMediaset’, the Bianconeri have decided to bet on Firmino to add experience to the attack of a team that currently has only Under-23 strikers like Kean and Vlahovic.

Firmino would cost about £17million less than Morata and on the basis of this extraordinary savings, Juventus will also be able to close the purchase of Lenadro Paredes from PSG.

CEO Maurizio Arrivabene is a very serious. He has prepared an accountant and knows every need of Allegri’s team: buying Firmino and Paredes with the money budgeted for the purchase of Morata alone is a winning technical and tactical strategy.

In Klopp’s press conference on Thursday ahead of the Community Shield this weekend, the German manager described the Brazilian as the ‘heart and soul’ of his team.

Firmino though is the right man in the right place, a man of international experience who can lead Juventus to a difficult but not impossible dream in Europe, considering the presence of Paul Pogba and Angel Di Maria.
