The San Jose Earthquakes posted this dig to X on Sunday night before deleting it

The San Jose Earthquakes took a dig at President Donald Trump in a social media post on Sunday night – before deleting the message from X.

The MLS’ Earthquakes trounced DC United 6-1 in an emphatic home win to move up to eighth in the Western Conference.

And after the win, the Earthquakes’ X account celebrated the win with a double-reference to Sunday’s date (April 6) and the January 6, 2021 attack on the US Capitol building.

‘Another L for D.C. on the 6th,’ the post read.

The link for the original post now shows that it is no longer available.

DailyMail.com has reached out to the Earthquakes for comment.

It’s been over five years since a mob of Trump supporters stormed the US Capitol building in Washington DC, as they protested the results of the election after Joe Biden won the presidency the previous fall.

Over 1,500 people were federally charged in connection to the Capitol attack, though the vast majority of them were pardoned by Trump after he assumed office for a second time this past January.

In another post which remains on X, the Earthquakes shared a graphic boasting of the 6-1 win without any political references.

’30 seasons later, a few more goals this time,’ the post read.

San Jose and DC are two of MLS’ original franchises and played the first game in league history on April 6, 1996.

San Jose, then called the Clash, won the game 1-0.

The franchise has two MLS Cups, which came in 2001 and 2003 with a young Landon Donovan.

San Jose finished with a league-worst 21 points last season and did not make the playoffs.
