British heavyweight champion and Ipswich fan Fabio Wardley was spotted in the away end at Saturday’s derby against Norwich City.

The 29-year-old Suffolk sensation, who is sponsored by his beloved Blues, and wears the club’s colours and badge in the ring, watched Ipswich suffer a blow to their bid for automatic promotion to the Premier League with a 1-0 defeat.

It came days after Wardley drew with Frazer Clarke to retain the British and Commonwealth heavyweight championship.

After 12 breath-taking rounds on one card Wardley won 114-113, on another Clarke had it 115-112 and on the third they were level 113-113.

Clarke had to rise from a knockdown in the fifth round and had a point deducted for a low blow, moments that proved to be decisive.

Wardley’s dream is to one day fight at Portman Road.

He told the Ipswich Star: ‘Portman Road is definitely on the cards and an option.

‘Obviously I want to make sure I do it properly though, with a big name, big fight, big occasion and make sure it all comes off perfectly.

‘Fingers crossed after this we’ll start looking around and see what the options are. If any make sense, we’ll go from there.’
