Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly set to join the race to sign Crystal Palace centre back Marc Guehi alongside bitter rivals Arsenal.

Guehi has emerged as one of the best young centre-backs in England and has been capped three times by the Three Lions.

His performances at Selhurst Park propelled him into Gareth Southgate’s plans with the 22-year-old making his international debut in 2022.

He’s made 78 appearances for the south London club since joining on a five-year deal for £18million from Chelsea in 2021.

The defender is on Tottenham’s wishlist as Spurs look to re-build a defence that has conceded 15 goals in their last four matches, according to the Evening Standard.

Clement Lenglet’s loan expires in the summer, while there are doubts over Davinson Sanchez’s long-term future at Spurs.

Arsenal also want a centre back amid concerns over William Saliba’s long-term fitness and Rob Holding’s contract is up next year.

Saliba’s absence has been a cause for concern for Arsenal in the run-in of the Premier League season, with Holding struggling to deputise for the Frenchman.

Arsenal fans have bemoaned their lack of squad depth as a reason for their title charge falling off, with the Gunners expected to strengthen in the summer.

And Guehi isn’t the only player who could leave Selhurst Park this summer, with the Eagles still waiting to hear star player Wilfried Zaha’s intentions ahead of next season.

The Ivory Coast international is out of contract at the end of the current campaign and is yet to sign a new contract that has been on the table for several weeks.

It is understood Zaha, who is recovering from a thigh injury, is yet to provide the club with a definitive decision over his future.

Roy Hodgson inherited a Palace side in a relegation battle and significantly struggling in attack

Roy Hodgson is hopeful that Palace will push on for the remaining four games despite looking clear of the menace of relegation.

‘It is up to the players,’ said Hodgson. ‘I don’t often share what I say to the players in the dressing room but I can share this. I said “it’s up to you”. Nothing is going to change as far as Ray [Lewington], Paddy McCarthy and I are concerned.

‘We will all work exactly the same way, but only you can get that fire, that desire to make the extra run, to win the challenge, only you can do that. I think you could take this as far as you want.

‘I’m not going to say we’re going to win four more games, but I don’t think we’re incapable of winning them.’
