Is Parler Proof Of Big Tech’s Antitrust Problem Or Proof There’s No Problem At All?

Must Read

On this episode of The Federalist Radio Hour, Parler Chief Policy Officer Amy Peikoff joins Culture Editor Emily Jashinsky to discuss the social media company’s fight against Big Tech, censorship, and deplatforming.

“Who is it that gets to be the arbiter of truth today? Is it some executives and tech executives? Is it now Biden who wants to make the decisions for the tech executives? It’s getting pretty scary out there and at Parler, we still trust individuals to think for themselves,” Peikoff said.

Parler suffered many deplatforming attempts but Peikoff believes the threat Big Tech and government collusion poses to free speech will help the social media company’s relaunch through app stores be better than ever.

“A platform that both collects information often about individual users, lots of personal information on some of the platforms is being collected, and at the same time, it disseminates important information,” Peikoff explained. “There’s many people who rely on social media as their primary news source. So, if you have that under the control of government, you have Big Brother.”
