A social media post by a mother of a mildly autistic son has gone viral after she shared that only four friends out of 12 came over to eat at his invitation.
In an Apr. 12 post on Threads, user @elineillyn said her son, Mikaiel Muqhriz, had asked her to cook “delicious food” because he wanted to invite 12 of his friends over from school.
He is currently studying in a mainstream education school, she shared.
However, when the day arrived, only four friends showed up.
“This sort of thing often happens, but Mikaiel always forgives his friends,” the mother wrote.
Ate all the food
The mother shared that the boy “tried his best to eat everything” because he was scared that his mother would be angry about all the leftover food.
“Eat slowly Mikaiel, you might choke… I’m not angry at all, but sad that your friends did this to you,” she wrote.
Warm responses
Netizens were touched by the story, with many saying they wanted to be Mikaiel’s friends and promising to turn up for dinner if invited.
