Lightning-fast, low-latency connectivity.
Those attending concerts and sport matches at Singapore Sports Hub can expect to get faster and better WiFi soon.
The hub is expected to be equipped with a high-density WiFi 7 network that will provide patrons with “robust, high-performance wireless internet access” across the precinct, Singapore Sports Hub said in a press release.
The enhancement will address the growing demand for high-density, low-latency wireless connectivity, especially during large-scale events, they said.
High speed public WiFi
The rollout of the new public WiFi is being led by M1 as the network system integrator, with Cisco serving as the technology solution provider.
They will be installing Cisco’s WiFi 7 solution, Cisco Wireless CW9179F, which is the industry’s first enterprise-grade, Wi-Fi 7 certified high-density access point, that is designed specifically for large public venues.
Every connection is secured by AI-native device segmentation, threat prevention, and advanced security, ensuring fans can use WiFi securely, the press release stated.
The enhanced network is expected to achieve “greater real-time collaborations, hyper-personalised digital services, and richer, more immersive experiences”.
The implementation of the new public Wifi will be phased and is expected to be completed by the first half of 2026.
