A 51-year-old man was arrested by the Bangkok police on Oct. 18 for offering illegal penis enlargement services out of his car.

Following his arrest, the man admitted he had no medical training and started the side business after watching and learning from online videos.

According to Thaiger, the man, Pittaya, advertised his penis enlargement injection and genital beading services on TikTok, which was how the police found out about his illicit activities.

The authorities identified the man, set up a sting operation and arrested him in his car in the Chatuchak district of Bangkok on Oct. 18, The Bangkok Post wrote.

A search of his vehicle turned up 189 pearling beads of varied shapes and sizes.

They also found medical equipment, including anaesthetics and surgical instruments.

Genital beading, or pearling, is the insertion of small beads under the skin of the penis to create ridges, The Bangkok Post explained.

It supposedly boosts friction during sex and thus enhances pleasure.

However, it could lead to long-term complications including scar tissue, chronic pain and penile dysfunction.

10,000 baht (S$395.41) per injection

Pittaya explained that he offered at-home or car-based services across Bangkok and other provinces as it was supposedly more convenient for clients and helped him avoid police detection, Thaiger wrote.

He charged 1,000 baht (S$39.54) per pearl, 5,000 baht (S$197.71) for circumcision and 10,000 baht (S$395.41) for enlargement injections.

The Daily Mail reported that the car he operated out of was an old 1990s grey Toyota Corolla.

The 51-year-old had been providing penis enlargement and circumcision services for a year before his arrest.

He picked up the know-how after developing an interest and reading up about it online.
