Kim Kardashian faced a wave of criticism after sharing an X post the morning after Election Day that some interpreted as a celebration of a decisive Democratic victory—despite her close friendship with Republican Ivanka Trump.
The 46-year-old prison reform advocate was accused of showing poor judgment toward Trump after Tuesday’s midterm elections shifted both the House and Senate in the Democrats’ favor.
“GOOD MORNING AMERICA,” Kardashian wrote in the caption. She was, in fact, appearing on ABC’s Good Morning America to promote the second season of her drama series All’s Fair. However, without that context, some followers assumed she was celebrating a new political era.
Fans quickly poked fun at the post. “Do you think she posted this before or after she checked in on her best friend Ivanka?” one X user wrote.
Another commenter reacted, “Oh wtf lol, it’s comical how you lack the ability to read the room.”
“You look good but we know you MAGA,” a third person added. Another critic reposted a photo of Kardashian with President Donald Trump, writing, “We didn’t forget, bb.”

One X user sarcastically asked: “Do you think she posted this before or after she checked in on her best friend Ivanka?”
Kardashian and Ivanka have developed a close friendship in recent years, while the fashion mogul also worked with Ivanka’s father during her efforts to advance prison reform.
In 2018, Kardashian spent an hour at the White House, where she met with presidential adviser Jared Kushner and spoke with President Trump about Alice Johnson, a woman serving a life sentence in prison.
Johnson had been imprisoned in 1996 for drug dealing and money laundering after 15 accomplices testified against her and saw their own charges dropped. She had played only a minor role in the cocaine operation and had no prior convictions.
Following the White House meeting, Kardashian went to Kushner and Ivanka’s home in Washington, DC.
Johnson was later granted clemency and received a full presidential pardon.
Kardashian has also faced scrutiny over her close friendships with fellow billionaires Jeff Bezos and his wife, Lauren Sanchez.
Those relationships developed after the Hulu star made it clear in 2017 that she did not support Trump’s presidency.
In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar Arabia, Kardashian suggested that her daughter, North West—then four years old—might make a better US president.
“Anyone can run the US better,” she said in August 2017. “My daughter would be better.”

Kardashian turned heads in New York City on Wednesday while promoting the second season of All’s Fair
Kardashian shared the post as she made her way around New York City to promote season two of her Hulu series All’s Fair.
The reality star and entrepreneur showcased her figure in a form-fitting burgundy mesh dress.
The sleeveless design revealed a low-cut black bra and included a contrasting white skirt beneath it.
She completed the striking look with open-toe perspex heels, while her signature dark hair was parted in the center and styled in a sleek blowout.
For her latest public appearances, the multihyphenate has been collaborating closely with stylist Law Roach.
For Wednesday’s Good Morning America appearance, Roach selected an asymmetrical peach Rabanne haute couture dress from the Spring 1989 collection.

Roach also helped Kardashian secure the opportunity to try on the late Elizabeth Taylor’s emerald and diamond necklace, a moment that sparked backlash online.
While working in Rome last month, Kardashian visited the Bulgari store, where she was able to see the multimillion-dollar jewels at close range.
Taylor’s former husband, Richard Burton, gave her the necklace and matching earrings for her 30th birthday.
Because of the pieces’ immense value and delicacy, a store employee handled them while wearing white gloves.
This week, Kardashian shared video from the visit and images from the photoshoot with her Instagram followers, describing the experience with enthusiasm.
“I remember talking to her before she passed away and asked all about these jewels and the stories behind them. Thank you @luxurylaw and @bvlgari for making all of my wildest dreams come true,” she wrote.
“Elizabeth Taylor just rolled over in her grave,” one person commented online after seeing the post.
