Zac Affleck has spoken publicly for the first time since his pregnant wife, Jen Affleck, filed for divorce two days earlier.
Jen, 27, is expecting the couple’s fourth child. She filed for divorce Tuesday after seven years of marriage, according to court documents reviewed by The Daily Mail.
In a statement to People on Thursday, Zac, 30, said he would “always be Jen’s supporter.”
“I hope she is happy in this next phase of life,” he added, saying his attention is now on “my kids and figuring out what’s next for me.”
One day after news of the split emerged, the former couple separately marked the fifth birthday of their eldest daughter, Nora, on social media.

Jen shared a picture of Nora in a kitchen decorated with pink balloons and birthday banners.
Zac also honored his “baby girl,” describing Nora as a child with the “biggest heart” who “makes everything feel a little extra magical.”
In her post, Jen said she could not believe her “little girl is five already.” Nora stood beside her birthday gift, a pink bicycle fitted with stabilizers and a basket.
Zac was with Nora as she celebrated, sharing a photo of her blowing out the candles on her cake. The message written on it read: “I hope all of your dreams come true.”
The divorce filing did not detail the reason for the separation or explain how the couple plans to handle custody of their children.
According to the documents, Jen filed in the Fourth Judicial District Court in Provo, Utah, and is represented by attorney Martin Olsen. TMZ was first to report the breakup.
The Daily Mail contacted representatives for both Jen and Zac seeking additional comment.
The court documents state that Jen “must attend both the divorce orientation and the parenting class within 60 days after filing the petition for divorce.”

The filing also said Zac must “attend both the divorce orientation and the parenting class within 30 days after receiving this notice.”
The pair met in 2018 through Mutual, a dating app created for Mormon singles. They later became engaged and married in June 2019.
Along with Nora, they are parents to three-year-old Lucas and one-year-old Penelope.
In June, Jen announced on Instagram that she was pregnant with the couple’s fourth child, sharing a photo that highlighted her growing baby bump.
Jen has been a central cast member on The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives since the Hulu reality series premiered in 2024, appearing throughout all five seasons.
Tensions in the marriage played out on the show. Jen expressed frustration over Zac’s gambling, while he objected to her attending a Chippendales performance in Las Vegas with her castmates.
“It’s scary to have your relationship exposed to the world,” Jen told Vulture in September 2024.
“We went into the season in a rocky place, but I still wanted to move forward with filming, because that’s what felt right to me, my career, and wanting to provide for my family,” she said.

The couple eventually turned to counseling, which appeared to improve their relationship, at least temporarily.
“Since filming, we’ve done therapy nonstop,” Jen told Vulture. “If we continue in our relationship, there are changes that need to be made.”
“If they’re not made, we might have to … look at other options. But as of right now, I do think he’s trying his best to make those changes.”
Jen has since moved from Utah to Southern California. She is set to appear in the Hulu spinoff The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives: Orange County, which is scheduled to premiere November 12.
