An Illinois woman has gone viral after a man confronted her, accusing her family of taking 40 juice boxes and Halloween candy that had been left outside for trick-or-treaters.
In the footage, the man can be heard approaching a woman standing with about five costumed children, who were carrying Halloween buckets filled with candy.
“So this is the mother who stole,” the man filming alleged as he walked up the driveway.
“No, we didn’t steal anything,” the woman replied.
“You took everything. You took 40 juice boxes,” he answered.
The woman denied the accusation, saying that if he checked his security cameras, he would see her removing items from the children’s bucket and returning them. She also claimed they had put the granola bars back.
“So, where is it?” the man shouted. “I got you on everything. I want it all back.”
“You’re mad ignorant,” she told him. “You’re walking up on people with cameras. That’s not how you do things.”
The voice of a man is heard in footage that shows him walk up to a woman stood with around five children dressed in costumes holding Halloween buckets full of candy
She told her children, who were climbing into a damaged minivan, that they didn’t have to give anything back to the man
“Ignorant?” he replied in disbelief. “You don’t steal. That’s what happens when you steal—you get put on blast.”
“Don’t put me on camera,” the woman said, raising her hand to cover her face.
She then appeared to tell her children, who were getting into a damaged minivan, that they did not need to return anything to the man.
“All right, don’t give me anything back,” he said. “You’re stealing from other kids.”
“Get out of here,” she responded.
The footage showed one of her younger children, dressed as a construction worker, starting to climb out of the vehicle and approach the man with his candy-filled bucket. His mother stopped him with her arm.
“No, keep it. You’re stealing from other kids,” the man continued as the woman ushered the children back toward the car.
“That’s the whole point of putting it outside,” he added.

“Oh, to take everything? I was gone for 10 minutes and it’s all gone!” he said.
“You had more stuff up there. Get out of my face,” she shouted. “You’re ruining the kids’ Halloween.”
“Are you serious? You just stole everything. I had more than 160 pieces out there,” he replied.
“They didn’t take 160 pieces of anything,” she argued. “Get out of my face. You’re not allowed to record us.”
“You took all the juice boxes. I can record whatever I want,” he said, calling them thieves and questioning whether he should have left the treats outside.
As the family loaded into the vehicle, the woman continued to shout insults at the man and told him to go back so they could take more.
The man then laughed and insulted the woman’s appearance.
“Where are your teeth?” he yelled as the car drove away.
Ring camera footage featured in another video appeared to show the woman and her children taking juice pouches from a home’s porch, with several items left behind as they walked away.
It is unclear exactly where or when the confrontation occurred, and the people involved have not been identified.
