Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson’s high-profile romance was intense, fast-moving and ultimately over almost as quickly as it began.
The pair started dating in May 2018, soon after ending long-term relationships of their own. They became engaged within weeks, but called it quits in October—less than five months later. Their split reportedly unfolded amid strain following the apparent drug overdose death of Grande’s former boyfriend, Mac Miller.

According to one insider, Grande, 32, “is happy for Pete” after hearing the news.
Although the Boca Raton-born singer does not know Hewitt personally, the source said Grande believes fatherhood is exactly what Davidson needs and that he will make a devoted parent.
“Everyone knows Pete’s father passed away in 9/11, and Pete will find it important to provide the best childhood possible for his child,” the insider said.

Davidson has spoken openly about the loss of his father, Scott, a New York City firefighter who was among the emergency workers responding to the World Trade Center terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001.
“Pete is looking to give it his all because he knows more than anyone that nobody is promised tomorrow,” the source added.
The insider also suggested that Grande hopes she will have the same happiness in her own future.
A source told Life & Style in 2024 that Grande and Slater had been discussing having children together, particularly as Grande became involved in the life of his son.
Although Grande and Davidson’s romance ended dramatically, the insider told Daily Mail that she now views it as “a loving moment in her life.” The source added that both stars have moved forward and are happy with their lives.
