A benefits cheat who received £25,000 from the taxpayer while claiming she was housebound has been jailed after it emerged she was competing in 10k races and working out at the gym.

Former nurse Helen Green, 49, from Shrewsbury, Shropshire, was described as ‘breathtakingly dishonest’ as she was today jailed for seven months.
