Brooklyn Beckham included a reference to his failed photography career in his 'classless' new advert for DoorDash as he is seen strolling past his infamous Elephants in Kenya snap

Brooklyn Beckham has included a reference to his failed photography career in his ‘classless’ new advert.

The aspiring chef, 27, released the full version of his new DoorDash advert at the close of the England World Cup match on Wednesday night, after being accused of ‘cashing in’ on his family feud with the campaign.

His parents David and Victoria, who have not spoken to their eldest son for over a year, were ‘devastated’ to see the advert, which has been criticised for making a ‘cheap joke’ about the rift.

In the full ad Brooklyn has poked fun at one of his many failed nepobaby career paths and has been accused of still profiting off the Beckham name despite saying he wants nothing to do with his parents David, 51, and Victoria, 52.

The advert shows Brooklyn strolling through a lavishly decorated LA mansion. One of the photos displayed on the walls is Brooklyn’s infamous Elephants in Kenya snap, included in his 2017 photography book.

Brooklyn tried his hand at photography and released his much derided What I See book at the age of 18, sharing captures of his life and family.

Among the 300 images in the book, his blurry, shadowy snap of elephants stood out as he reasoned in the caption the animals were ‘so hard to photograph.’

The book was launched to much fanfare with an exhibition in London and Los Angeles. That same year, Brooklyn began a four-year photography course at Parsons School of Design in New York, but he left after a year.

Fans mocked Brooklyn for including the photo in his new advert, with one quipping: ‘Peak photography’ whilst others simply told him to ‘get a job’.

In the wake of Brooklyn’s bombshell statement in January in which he accused his ‘controlling’ parents of trying to ruin his marriage with wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham, fans recalled his many career tangents, pointing out that his mum and dad have only ever supported, and financed, his various ambitions.

Brooklyn has sparked huge backlash with his DoorDash campaign, with followers commenting in their droves about the ‘classless’ move under the Instagram clip.

‘When you become a parent, then you will understand the pain,’ wrote one. ‘For someone who claims his parents are ruling his life, you are definitely cashing in on your father’s hard work repeatedly….’ added another.

Other comments read: ‘Embarrassing I thought he wanted to step away from his family but he’s cashing in on them still very sad for his family I hope he finds his way back;’ ‘Very distasteful. If you’re so against your family and your parents remove the last name, Beckham!’

Others were in disbelief that Brooklyn and his team thought the ad would be a PR win.

‘Who approved this creative?!?’ asked one fan. ‘This is such a miss and not landing at all. You can’t complain away every fibre of your name when you feel, but benefit from it in the public when it serves you. Bad form, and bad taste that did not land effectively to benefit the end goal.

One other follower commented: ‘Omg I don’t normally comment but this is extreme! Understand that he stands by his wife which I have high respect for but this isn’t a joke anymore and I truly feel sorry for @victoriabeckham and @davidbeckham.’

‘They DON’T deserve this much hate. They have done their best as his parents which is obviously not enough but he ought to keep his hate to himself. Seriously stop being such a bully!

In the complete sponsored clip, Brooklyn said: ‘You’re probably wondering why I’m watching the FIFA World Cup 2026 from home… it’s a long story.’

‘These can go to someone…else,’ he told a Doordash employee as he handed over a bag of tickets, adding: ‘Hey, put them somewhere fun!’

The caption on the post read: ‘Asked @doordash to go drop my FIFA World Cup 2026 tickets for you guys… happy hunting Follow @doordash’s account to see clues for where you can find them xx #DoorDashPartner #DeliverUsToFutbol #FifaWorldCup2026.’

David and Victoria, who have not spoken to their eldest son for over a year, were ‘devastated’ to see the advert and his sister Harper and grandparents are also said to be ‘inconsolable’. Read the full Mail+ story here.
