Most are guilty of applying a glossy filter to a selfie on occasion, but some celebrities appear to transform their pictures so much, they’re almost unrecognisable in real life.
Among them is Lee Andrews, who, when posting on social media in recent times, after claiming he was held at gunpoint on suspicion of espionage, debuted a new head of hair on social media.
Katie Price’s husband, 42, had been MIA for weeks after he was thrown behind bars in Al Awir Central Prison on fraud allegations, although he insists he was captured at gunpoint after being suspected of espionage.
In a new Instagram post shared in the early hours of Wednesday, Lee continued to insist there is ‘not one shred of evidence’ that he has been charged with fraud, hitting out at his ex-fiancée Alana Percival for spreading the story.
But despite all the drama around his arrest, viewers found themselves distracted by something else entirely – his new look. Gone was his fading buzzcut, and in its place was a full mane with a tight hairline.
In the same week, 67-year-old Queen of Pop Madonna revealed her all-natural look without filters and Photoshop on streamer Gymskin’s channel to promote her new album.
In footage streamed to the British influencer’s Kick channel, Madonna showcased her radiant natural state, with nothing more than a bright ring light to flatter her.
As expected, the Hung Up hitmaker still looked far younger than her years, although her visage wasn’t quite as smooth and faultless as it is in her highly edited Instagram photos.

Fans were shocked to see the ‘real’ Madonna in all her glory, with many praising the entertainer for finally feeling comfortable enough to reveal her true self to the world.
‘I like seeing Madonna without filters. Sure she looks older, but I think she looks great. Anyone saying otherwise, please look at other 67 year old people and compare,’ wrote one fan.
‘What do you mean, people are shocked by her appearance? For goodness sake, she looks great for a woman who’s almost 70,’ added another.
A third wrote, ‘I love that she didn’t have this filtered. She looks just fine without all those filters.’
However, a few naysayers couldn’t resist criticising the pop legend, with one asking, ‘Why couldn’t she just age gracefully?’ Another added, ‘I see Madonna blending into Faye Dunaway.’
Meanwhile, Pete Wicks may also be using Madonna’s tips and tricks to enhance his images.
In an Instagram selfie, the former The Only Way Is Essex star appeared somewhat different to an image taken of him around a similar time on the red carpet.
While his beard appeared full on Instagram, it was sparser in real life, and his face also appeared generally slimmer and more tanned.

For instance, in a selfie taken earlier this week, the influencer looked different to her usual self, with a seemingly coloured sheen applied to her picture.
Similarly, though Lauryn appears to favour a filter on social media, she revealed her more natural look when appearing on ITV’s Lorraine in June last year.
