Jenna Bush Hager has revealed the wild request she made while she was giving birth to one of her three children – and it was one that even took her husband, Henry Hager, by surprise.
The media personality, 44, shared the story during the December 22 episode of TODAY With Jenna and Friends, as she co-hosted with her good friend and fellow anchor Savannah Guthrie.
During the show, Bush Hager recalled that she had made a ‘birthing playlist’ to be played while she gave birth.
But she explained that she was having a C-section and the surgeon didn’t seem to be a huge fan of her request.
Bush Hager shares three children with her husband – daughters Mila, 12, and Poppy, ten, as well as son Hal, six.
‘I made a birthing playlist,’ Bush Hager announced during the show. ‘And the craziest thing is, I was having a C-section.’
‘I’m there waiting, and then I’m like, “Sir!” you know, spinal tap in, “Can we put on my playlist?!”‘ Bush Hager described.
She said that in response, the doctor reminded her that she was going to be in surgery, and didn’t need to play music.

However, Bush Hager didn’t take no for an answer.
‘I’m like, “But you know I made a whole playlist,” you know?’ she continued.
‘And Henry’s like, “Honey, I think we could just let the playlist go,” and I’m like, “No, no, I’d love to have the playlist!”‘
Bush Hager joked that when she was on the operating table getting ‘cut open,’ she requested that her husband change songs, which left him stunned.
‘I’m on the thing, and I’m like, “Honey, change that song please! Change the song to the next?”‘ she recalled.
‘He’s like, “Are you kidding? Your stomach is completely cut open.” I’m like, I just wanted it a little more relaxing, you know?’
In response, Guthrie admitted that it was probably better that she was focused on the playlist rather than the operation itself.
‘Yeah, like my organ being taken out!’ Hager joked.

Bush Hager’s hilarious story comes just a month after she announced her new permanent co-host on TODAY – Sheinelle Jones.
Jones will take the place of longtime host Hoda Kotb, who stepped down last January.
During their heartfelt announcement, Jones revealed that her predecessor Kotb, 61, called her on Monday night and offered some words of wisdom.
‘She gave me 45 seconds of just wisdom that changed me,’ Jones shared.
‘She said, “Remember this moment. You are going to talk about how this was a moment that changed your career, and it was the best decision for your kids, for you.”
‘She was like, “Working with Jenna is going to better than you could ever imagine. You are going to love it.”‘
Jones’s promotion comes seven months after the death of her husband Uche Ojeh from glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer.
