'Married With Children' star Ted McGinley reveals his shockingly low TV residuals

Ted McGinley says he has a “whole stack” of residual checks, each made out for the grand total of one penny.

The actor, 67, whose career spans decades, earned puny checks for his roles in a slew of shows like “Happy Days,” “The Love Boat,” and, most notably, as Jefferson D’Arcy on seven seasons of “Married with Children.”

McGinley explained in a recent interview with Page Six that residuals “step down, eventually, it doesn’t become that much.”

Nevertheless, his years working in the ’70s, ’80s, and ’90s ensure that “I’ve been getting residuals all the time.”

McGinley admits that he doesn’t bother cashing in the penny checks, but he’s not too fancy to toss small checks.

“I’d say about $2,” he said with a laugh, estimating the smallest amount he’ll deposit.

“$1.89, it’s going on!” he exclaimed.

The “Revenge of the Nerds” star can currently be seen in the Apple+ series “Shrinking,” opposite Harrison Ford.

“I never in my wildest dreams imagined that I [would] get this shot,” he shared. “I remember always going in on films and whatnot and thinking, ‘I wonder what it would be like, I’d just give anything to see what it would be like to work opposite a guy like Harrison Ford, just the biggest movie star in the world. What is it like?”

McGinley says it’s even better than he imagined.

“It’s amazing,” he gushed. “This has been that gift. It’s been that opportunity to just watch,” adding that he’s noticed Ford is kind to everyone on the set and “sets you at ease. He’s there to work.”

McGinley still sounds slightly stunned to be part of the show alongside Jason Segel, Christa Miller, Michael Urie and Brett Goldstein.

“I never thought I would be on a show like this,” he conceded. “I’m so honored that they would allow me to be a part of it.”
