3 Netflix Shows You Need to Binge This Weekend

Starring the talented duo of Jon Bernthal and Tessa Thompson, the new limited series His & Hers is an instant hit on Netflix and is topping the U.S. charts at the time of writing. Based on Alice Feeney‘s 2020 mystery thriller of the same name, the series was dubbed “a twisty narrative that surprisingly tugs at your heartstrings” in Collider’s review of the series, and more than deserves its position at the top of the tree. However, with just six episodes available, most have already completed their binge of the mystery thriller. So, what to watch next? Collider is here to help you decide, with three Netflix shows you should binge-watch this weekend.

Mystery fans are in for the perfect treat this weekend with the arrival of Agatha Christie’s Seven Dials. Adapted by Broadchurch creator Chris Chibnall, the series follows the aftermath of a prank gone wrong at a 1925 country house party. Taking the lead in the investigation is the unlikely Lady Eileen “Bundle” Brent (Mia McKenna-Bruce), although little could she expect what life-changing discoveries await.

Also starring the likes of Martin Freeman, Helena Bonham Carter, Edward Bluemel, Nyasha Hatendi, Corey Mylchreest, Guy Siner, and more, Seven Dials, adapted from Christie’s The Seven Dials Mystery, makes for the perfect, glamorous British murder mystery series to dust off those January blues this weekend.

‘One Day’ (2024)

Rotten Tomatoes: 92% | IMDb: 8.0/10

One of the very best Netflix miniseries of the past few years, the romantic drama One Day follows the ups, downs, and in-betweens in the 20-year relationship of Emma (Ambika Mod) and Dexter (Leo Woodall), who journey from a meeting at university, through their professional lives, and into the face of joyous celebration and heartbreaking tragedy.

A faithful adaptation to its source material that isn’t afraid of taking creative swings, One Day is guaranteed to leave you in floods of tears come its final credits. Mod and Woodall produce career-best performances so far in this touching reminder of the enduring power of love, with the series earning an impressive three BAFTA nominations and a near-perfect 92% score from critics on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes.
