Ghosts and Eternally Yours co-creator Joe Port addresses whether there will be a crossover between the two series.
Port and Joe Wiseman created the U.S. version of Ghosts and have continued to oversee it as showrunners. After 11 years of trying to get it greenlit, they now have another sitcom, Eternally Yours, that is coming to CBS. It has been described as a companion series to Ghosts due to having the same creative team and having a balance of the supernatural and heartfelt humor, with the premise of a longtime vampire couple navigating marriage troubles and their daughter dating a human.
In an interview with TV Insider, when Port was asked about a potential crossover, he emphasized that he is open to the idea, which he imagines as being “a lot of fun.” The showrunner clarified that one Ghosts actor will be seen more in Eternally Yours now because she is a series regular in the latter. He also shared what he and Wiseman have considered if the crossover comes to fruition, including where it would take place. Check out Port’s comments below:
Obviously, I think Rose Abdoo‘s role going forward will be more as Phyllis in Eternally Yours, since she’s a series regular in that, but I think a crossover episode would be a lot of fun.
We’ve talked a little bit about what that might look like. Whether that’s some vampires coming to Woodstone or whatever it ends up being, I think that would be a really interesting thing to explore.
In Ghosts, Rose Abdoo plays a TV producer named Paula who first appears in season 2 and later returns at the end of season 5. Her Eternally Yours character is Phyllis, a human who does not realize that her husband, Jesse (Parker Young), is a vampire, nor does she realize that their twin children Mort (Tristan Michael Brown) and Henry (Shylo Molina) are half-vampires. Her memories of vampires are erased daily, but this has come at the cost of her mental health.
The central characters in Eternally Yours are the married vampires Charles (Ed Weeks) and Liz (Allegra Edwards) and their daughter Emma (Helen J. Shen). They live in present-day Seattle, which creates some challenges for a crossover in Ghosts season 6 or at another point. Woodstone Mansion is located on the opposite side of the country in Ulster County in Upstate New York. Beyond the distance, there is the logistics of the ghosts being stuck there, which means that the vampires would probably need to visit for a crossover episode.
Eternally Yours season 1 is airing at 8:30 p.m. ET on Thursday nights this fall on CBS, while Ghosts is returning during the midseason point in early 2027. Ghosts will briefly return before then, though, as there will be special Halloween and Christmas episodes released at these respective times in 2026. It has been hinted that the specials will address season 5’s cliffhanger regarding the disappearance of Pete (Richie Moriarty).
