Red Dead Redemption 2 Official DLC Announcement Leaves GTA 6 Fans Cold

With Rockstar Games keeping information close to its chest when it comes to Grand Theft Auto VI, it is no wonder that fans have taken it upon themselves to do whatever it takes to find out if the highly anticipated game is still on track for its 19 November 2026 release date. However, with Rockstar not yet releasing the third trailer, or even giving us a potential price tag or pre-order date, fans are starting to worry that a third delay could be imminent.

Luckily, worries were eased ever so slightly earlier this month after multiple leaks and insider sources suggested that 12 May would be the day which saw Rockstar make a big announcement surrounding the launch of Grand Theft Auto VI. Not only that, but with Game Informer choosing this date to unveil a brand-new cover featuring a major release, GTA VI fans confidently marked the day on their calenders. However, as you can probably imagine, it was all for naught once again.

With Game Informer unveiling a cover dedicated to The Blood of Dawnwalker rather than Grand Theft Auto VI, and Rockstar only announcing the latest Red Dead Online update on its social media, fans were left feeling disappointed once more, whilst others went back to the drawing board to see when the moon will align enough for a future announcement.

It is hard to believe that there is just over six months to go until Grand Theft Auto VI is set to launch, especially as Rockstar has not released an official update on the game since it released its second official trailer back in May 2025. However, despite no news potentially being good news, fans are less than pleased with the studio’s radio silence, and have taken to r/GTA6 to share their thoughts over Rockstar’s latest social media post.

“Thank you for nothing,” one user shared overnight, alongside a screenshot of Rockstar’s latest Twitter/X post which shed some light on the latest update to Red Dead Online, as opposed to the GTA VI news that we were all expecting. With over 400 comments gathered in just 20 hours, it is safe to say that fellow fans agree.

“Same time next week?” The top comment joked. “All this hoping and guessing just to get slapped with a bonus week post for a dead online mode over and over again is objectively hilarious,” another added.

Another fan did make a good point when they said, “As much as I’m absolutely fiending for the trailer and the game, as much as everyone else, I will say, the hopium/copium posts on here and on Twitter will never not crack me up. Genuinely the funniest sub I’ve seen, I’m going to miss those posts once the game actually comes out.” However, another user is hoping that the next leaked date will finally pay off. “Pft, it was never going to be today,” they shared. “Now, next Tuesday, the 19th, the 6-month mark to release…

With no official updates from Rockstar itself, we do not yet know when we will receive the next announcement surrounding Grand Theft Auto VI, so it is really back to the drawing board for us in the meantime.
