A 13-year-old boy has died following a house fire in Blackpool – amid fears an e-bike charger exploded.
Emergency services were called to Redcar Road at 9.37am on June 30 after reports of a property fire, it has been announced today.
A 19-year-old man and the boy aged 13 – since named as Coby Keogh – were taken to hospital with serious injuries following the blaze.
In an update issued this afternoon, Lancashire Police said the boy died from his injuries on Sunday.
Officers have also suggested the blaze could have been sparked by an e-bike.
A force spokesperson said: ‘Our thoughts are with Coby’s loved ones at this time, and they are being supported by specially trained officers. A file will be prepared for HM Coroner.’
Joey Gregory, 19, remained in a serious condition in hospital.
In an emotional update shared on Facebook on Saturday, Joey’s mum revealed he was continuing to fight for his life.

She wrote: ‘We were told on Tuesday that the first 24-48 hours were critical. Then they said 72….. We are on day 5 and my boy is still here.
‘Keep fighting sunshine, we ain’t going nowhere. We are so lucky to have such amazing family and friends. My boy is so loved. I don’t know where we are finding the strength from. Please keep praying.’
Three other people inside the property suffered minor injuries.
An investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing between police and Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service, with officers confirming there is no evidence of third-party involvement at this stage.
Joey’s dad Harry Gregory has posted on Facebook saying, ‘Right here goes so people in Blackpool/fylde coast have probably read about that devastating house fire yesterday. And yes my boy Joey Gregory was in that fire.
‘He’s in a bad way.. me and his mum Sally Gregory are at Wythenshawe hospital along with our families and close loved ones. He’s in a critical condition but he’s still with us.
‘Please please please say a prayer for him and another young lad.. give your kids an extra hug today as you never know what’s round the corner!!’
A GoFundMe page has raised more than £10,000 in donations for him and his family.

The blaze broke out at the home on Redcar Road at about 9.37am on Tuesday.
Five fire engines and a command support unit were sent to the scene, with crews deploying breathing apparatus, hose reels and a jet to tackle the fire.
