Feel the Warmth of Collectivism: Mamdani Gets Flame-Broiled for His Heat Wave Advice
The ‘City that Never Sleeps’ is enduring a historic and dangerous heat wave. Temperatures are forecast to reach 100 degrees Fahrenheit or higher on Thursday and Friday. Heat indices are expected to climb to 110–115 degrees due to high humidity.
And Mamdani’s solution is for everyone to set their ACs to a balmy 78 degrees and push his socialist fever dream.

But the bottom line for Jill here is how fast it dropped, which would suggest that there isn’t a real sustained interest in the book. Gee, what a surprise. Not.

WHAT’S ON TAP?
Today on Capitol Hill…
Nothing. Nada. Zilch. The critters have escaped the Swamp for the Independence Day holiday weekend and will be out for a district work period next week. Which, again, does not mean that we won’t be hearing from them at all — they just won’t be holding hearings or votes for the next week-and-a-half.

COMING ATTRACTIONS
On Friday, President Trump will return to the Dakotas — this time to South Dakota to deliver a speech at Mt. Rushmore as we celebrate America 250.
He’ll head to Turkey for the NATO Summit July 7-8.
Also, we’ve got oodles of America 250 festivities continuing through the weekend.
MORNING MUSING
Like my friend Bob, I can’t say I’ve always been a big soccer fan, though I’ve been to my fair share of youth games, along with a smattering of pro matches, and I generally do enjoy the sport. But it’s virtually impossible not to get caught up in the fun that has been the World Cup this year. The timing of it all is impeccable, coinciding as it does with the big America 250 celebration.
And so it was that my bff and I wound up at a neighborhood watering hole Wednesday evening to watch the U.S. Men’s National Team take on Bosnia and Herzegovina. The place was crowded, and the patrons were into the game. Cheering wildly when goals were scored, groaning loudly when two were called back, and jeering robustly at that ridiculous BS red card.
And, of course, singing, “Take me home…country roads” at the end of it all. It’s a good thing.
Now we turn our sights to Belgium. Bring it on!
