What are folks on the Left now saying with these latest revelations against the Democratic candidate for Senate in Maine, Graham Platner? How much is too much for them, and how many of them are willing to go over the slide for this guy in the hopes he can help them take back the Senate?
In addition to allegations about heavy drinking and abusive behavior, he also allegedly made sick comments about rape, according to his ex-girlfriend Lyndsey Fifield.
“He said this a lot: If anybody ever broke in here, I would rape them,” said 40-year-old Lyndsey Fifield, who dated the Maine candidate from 2013 to 2015.
“He was like, ‘I would rape them to show them that I’m dominant,’” she told the New York Times, adding Platner would clarify that he wouldn’t be raping the hypothetical intruders in “a sexual way, not in a gay way.”
His campaign did not deny to The NY Times that he made such comments. However, Platner appeared on MS NOW, and denied any abuse or violent behavior.
He also denied he knew the meaning of the Nazi tattoo he had, despite Fifield saying he knew and was telling friends during 2025 about it in texts. But a CNN report points out the problems with Platner’s position.

So what happened to the Democrats who were screaming about “Believe all women”? Suddenly, the worm turns.
Let’s start with the “good/at least expressing concerns” reactions. The dam may be breaking.
Here’s Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi (IL-08).
RNCResearch: KRISHNAMOORTHI: “I’d like to hear [Graham Platner] address everything.”
CNN: “He did last night.”
KRISHNAMOORTHI: “But I also…”

Then there was Rep. Josh Gottheimer (NJ-05), who said if it were New Jersey, the alleged abuse and the Nazi tattoo would be disqualifying.
Democrat Rep. Josh Gottheimer on Graham Platner:
“I’ll leave it up to them because I’m not in Maine, but I’ll tell you if he were in New Jersey, the abuse of women, let alone the Nazi tattoo…would be disqualifying.” pic.twitter.com/dzVGyAc5Lr

Rep. Madeleine Dean (PA-4) also said it was disqualifying “in my eyes”.
NEW: Democratic Rep. Madeleine Dean says Graham Platner “has disqualified himself” from Maine Senate race.

As we reported on Thursday, Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) has been against Platner. He also said there were likely to be more things coming out, referring to a saying about Texas ranches, that for every one you see, there are many more.

He apparently got in a “Nazi” jab, joking he did “not see” other revelations coming before they came. I don’t think the reporter got it.
Fetterman on the latest NYT story about Platner:
“I did not see that coming…he’s like in Texas, for every ranch you see, there’s another 50 you won’t.”
“He lied about his Nazi tattoo and assured people there wouldn’t be more..he just came here a day ago and said nothing more,…

Now to the cowardly.
Most, like Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), who endorsed and rallied with Platner, wouldn’t comment.
Then, the bad and really ugly. Let’s see what Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) had to say. He said he was “not impressed.”
Dem Sen. Whitehouse says he’s “not impressed” by the allegations against Graham Platner in the latest NYT report.
“Seems like a lot of nothing. I mean, the only one who had anything to say that seemed ‘unsettling’ was a woman who works for right-wing political operations.”

“Seems like a lot of nothing. I mean, the only one who had anything to say that seemed ‘unsettling’ was a woman who works for right-wing political operations,” he proclaimed.
Talk about a bad take. So much for “believe all women,” not to mention there were three women with problems with Platner’s behavior. Gee, what will Whitehouse do when more drops, and there are reports of more.

But the worst take may belong to Rep. Ro Khanna (CA-17). While he put out a statement saying the behavior laid out in The NY Times was “wrong and toxic,”`
BREAKING: California Democrat Ro Khanna says the allegations against Graham Platner reported by The New York Times are “wrong and toxic,” but says he will still appear alongside him at a rally in Maine tonight.
In a statement, Congressman Khanna wrote, “The people of Maine… pic.twitter.com/QGoMXPDEyl

“Graham has acknowledged that and sought redemption. The people of Maine deserve a senator who is going to stand up to the billionaire class, against genocide, and for the working class.”
Not only that, but he was supposed to be going to a rally for Platner on Friday night. Incredible. And Khanna had just said the day before that any domestic abuse allegations would be a red line for him. So much for Khanna.
They just keep digging that hole deeper.
“You see in this world there’s two kinds of people my friend – those with loaded guns, and those who dig. You dig”
