The storyline begins in 1887, with Lidia’s brother Enrico (Pier Luigi Pasino), who is now a member of parliament, campaigning for a law allowing his sister to practice.

Writing online, one viewer penned: ‘Loved season 3! The production, acting and script all top class.’

Another admitted the final scene made them ‘cry’, while a third shared they were ‘sad it’s the final season.’

Having finished the show, a fourth viewer revealed they plan to ‘watch again in a couple of months.’

For Paste Magazine, TV writer Lacy Baugher Milas penned: ‘As heroines go, Lidia is utterly delightful: smart, confident, funny, and charmingly modern, she’s a woman who knows what she wants and is unwilling to settle for anything less.

‘The utterly compelling Lidia — and the standout performance from De Angelis— makes the show such tremendous fun to watch, that it’s impossible not to want to watch this story’s familiar beats play out in another language.’

Elsewhere, a Netflix crime thriller has been released with a whopping 90% Rotten Tomatoes score as fans laud it as ‘Nordic noir done right’ and ‘a gorgeous viewing experience’.
