Despite being the son of one of the most famous and iconic celebrity couples in the world, Romeo Beckham is determined to forge is own path to Hollywood.

The second eldest son of David and Victoria Beckham, 23, is set to make his big-screen debut this November in movie Forty Love, which centres on a same-sex romance involving two rising tennis stars.

This marks a surprising career move for Romeo, having enjoyed stints in football, tennis, and modelling.

But he is not the first famous child star to move into acting, with Maya Hawke (daughter of Ethan Hawke and Uma Thurman) and Lily Collins (daughter of Phil Collins) both going on to reach huge success on their own.

Despite his nepo baby label and an estimated net worth of $5 million, Romeo appears determined to carve out a name for himself beyond the Beckham brand.

He has been described as a ‘grafter,’ who is keen to ‘let his work speak for itself’.

A source told The Sun: ‘Romeo has long been in demand for film and TV roles, but he made sure to do the work before putting his name to anything.’

They continued: ‘This film will show people what Romeo can do. He is an impressive actor and this is a great starting point for him. Romeo is a grafter.’

But how did he get to this point you ask?

Romeo landed his first modelling gig as a child at just 10-years-old, starring in a campaign for Burberry.

As a teen, he achieved his first cover, appearing on the front of L’Uomo Vogue’s Generation Issue.

Just like his brother Brooklyn, he joined Arsenal FC Academy but stepped away when he was 13.

After leaving the club, Romeo briefly put his soccer dreams aside in favour of playing tennis.

He would train four to five days a week and hit balls with Grand Slam champions and elite pros, including Andy Murray, Caroline Wozniacki, and Grigor Dimitrov.

His tennis coach John Johnson at the time that the teen’s skills are ‘extraordinary’ for someone of his age.

‘I’m not sure his parents realise how good he is,’ he told the BBC at the time. ‘He has a lot of talent and very good hand-eye coordination.

‘I’m going to have a meeting with his mother about it to reinforce that.

‘Romeo has a natural swing and is very enthusiastic, he just loves it. He kept telling me and I could see how focused he was.’

David even paid £30,000 to have a tennis court installed at the family home – only for Romeo to return to his first love – football.

He began playing football again in 2020 and the tennis court was transformed into a five-a-side pitch.

At 19, he joined Fort Lauderdale CF, the sister club of Inter Miami CF, which is co-owned by his dad.

The team competes in League One of the United Soccer League and in September 2021, Romeo made his professional debut in a match against Tormenta FC.

He made 20 appearances, scoring two goals and providing eight assist. He finished the season leading the league in assists.

Romeo then joined relocated to England, initially joining Premier League side Brentford’s B team on a six-month loan before signing a permanent one-year contract.

He played as a squad rotation winger, helping the team win the 2022–23 Premier League Cup.

He made 15 appearances and scored one goal.

Romeo hung up his football boots for good in 2024 to join a top Paris Fashion agency.

A source told The Sun at the time: ‘Romeo has decided to hang up his football boots and devote his time to his fashion career.

‘He has loved his time at Brentford but needs to focus his attention on fashion, which is where his passion lies.

‘Romeo has recently signed with a top fashion agent in Safe Management in Paris and has his sights set on working with some massive brands.’

He signed a whopping £1.2million deal with Puma to be the face of their brand in 2021.

He has now worked with some of the biggest luxury brands including Yves Saint Laurent and Balenciaga, while being a long-time Burberry muse.

In October 2024 the then 22-year-old made his debut at Demna’s spring/summer 2025 Balenciaga show in Paris.

Then came a surprise cameo at Milan Fashion Week the following season, where he walked the Versace autumn/winter 2025 runway.

Earlier this month, he launched his sportswear label, Intra.

Romeo had been teasing the football-inspired fashion project, which features retro-inspired apparel influenced by iconic England, Brazil and USA kits, over the last couple of weeks.

The model, who officially launched his new brand on June 7, looked thrilled to be celebrating his project with his famous family.

And now Romeo has turned to acting as he is set to take on Hollywood by storm with the French movie Forty Love.

Forty Love is directed by fashion photographer Pierre-Ange Carlotti, produced by Hugo Selignac’s Chi-Fou-Mi Productions and co-produced by Studiocanal.

The story revolves around Paul’s character Sacha Gallo, a tennis superstar who’s been training with his father to win a major trophy in Paris and is irked by the arrival of new rival – played by Romeo.

The first look image showed the nepo-baby intensely gazing at Paul with his neck tattoos and two earrings on display.

The synopsis reads: ‘For the first time, he faces an opponent of an entirely different nature – love. A force as exhilarating as it is destabilising – and far more dangerous than anything he has encountered on the court.’

The film is described as having ‘a rare tenderness, melancholy and strength’.

Hugo added it is ‘sensual, romantic and deeply moving romantic fable and coming-of-age story’ about the ‘demands of high-level sport, and everything that lies beneath the surface… led by outstanding performances.’

Chloe Marquet, head of international sales at Studiocanal, said: ‘Carlotti’s singular visual language gives the film a real edge, while its exploration of desire, competition and identity will resonate with audiences worldwide.’

But Romeo isn’t the only actor in the Beckham brood. Both his parents Victoria and David have appeared in front of the camera over the years.

While Victoria has pivoted from music to fashion and beauty, the star famously appeared in the Spice Girls’ 1997 comedy film, Spice World.

Meanwhile, David has made a few on-screen cameos.

He guest starred as himself on the hit sitcom Modern Family in 2015, and had a small cameo in Guy Ritchie’s The Man from U.N.C.L.E.

He also appeared in the 2017 action film, King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, playing the small part of Trigger.
