Vice President J.D. Vance is a little preoccupied dealing with the war his boss (and Israel) thought was very important to launch, but I really hope he doesn’t end up like Kamala Harris. One of the best ways he can ensure that he doesn’t is by delivering some solid results in his role as Fraud Czar.
It’s been more than a month since he earned that title, so anyone would be forgiven for not even remembering it, but back in mid-March the president established the “task force to eliminate fraud.” The point was to “fight fraud, close loopholes, enforce eligibility rules, and protect benefits for eligible Americans, while ensuring States administering Federal benefits programs do the same.” In other words, stop low-lifes from robbing the perpetually cheated American middle class.
That’s a tall order, no doubt, given that the government, under both Republicans and Democrats, has been bilking taxpayers to the tune of hundreds of billions of dollars. It gets worse every year. But as luck would have it, getting a start on it has been made easy with some very big and very recent busts.
As we just saw with Democrat-run hate groups ActBlue and Southern Poverty Law Center, all these anti-American nonprofits need to be audited. ActBlue has quite possibly “accepted and/or facilitated the acceptance of foreign-national contributions into American elections” (Our democracy is at stake!), and the SPLC has effectively been propping up supposed “white supremacy” organizations by allegedly paying their members. In essence, two of the Democrat Party’s most influential groups are doing the exact opposite of what they profess to American voters.
If a business fails to deliver a service or product that’s been paid for, the customer is legally entitled to a refund and the business should face other penalties to halt the misconduct. This should be no different.
In California, more than a quarter of $1 billion was stolen via the state’s Medicaid administration, which was paying out thieves for hospice services that never existed. Don’t tell me that’s not done on purpose. The people who run these programs know. They’re Democrats. Welfare fraud is their flex.
And then of course we had Minnesota’s colossal Somali “Learing Center”-type fraud schemes where billions allocated for “social services,” including “food assistance,” “health care,” and “child care,” were stolen. This kind of activity is taking place in every major city, which are nearly all run by Democrats.
The IRS needs to start from scratch on approving tax exemptions for political nonprofits. The Social Security Administration needs to verify every single outlay. And so does every other federal agency sending money to states for “social services.”
By the way, that includes the Veterans Affairs Office, which is pushing out tens or hundreds of billions of dollars per year in fake disability claims. (You should check out the outsized number of service members who get money for sleep apnea, erectile dysfunction, and irritable bowel syndrome, all medical conditions that are conveniently almost impossible for a doctor to verify without sleeping in the claimant’s bed with him.)
