Popular fast food chain unveils Spider-Man pizza with ‘webbed’ pepperoni topping

Fast food chains are getting ready for the upcoming release of Spider-Man: Brand New Day with special offerings — including a “webbed” pepperoni pizza.

The fourth installment in the Tom Holland-led superhero film series, out in theaters July 31, sees the British actor return opposite Zendaya as lovers Peter Parker/Spider-Man and MJ.

To celebrate the new film, Little Caesars has officially launched its Webberoni Pizza, featuring a “web” of shredded pepperoni and a toasted two-cheese blend on top, in U.S. restaurants. The 14-inch pizza is inspired by Spider-Man’s signature web-slinging superpowers and will be served in boxes featuring the superhero.

According to a Monday press release from Little Caesars, the Webberoni Pizza starts at $8.99 and will only be available for a limited time, though it isn’t clear for how long.

Customers can also create their own themed pizza by adding a “web” of shredded pepperoni and toasted cheeses to any pie for an additional cost when ordering online.

Apart from food offerings, Little Caesars is hosting a pop-up June 27 at the Greenpoint Terminal Warehouse in Brooklyn, New York, from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. ET. At the event, there will be “a replica of Peter Parker’s apartment that fans can explore, take photos, search for special Spider-Man and Peter Parker details, and enjoy the new Webberoni Pizza,” according to the release.

“Our goal is to connect with consumers in cultural moments and areas where they are passionate,” Greg Hamilton, Chief Marketing Officer at Little Caesars, said in a statement. “We’re thrilled to work with Sony Pictures’Spider-Man: Brand New Day this summer to bring the world’s favorite superhero into our stores and homes across the country, creating a unique pizza occasion the entire family can enjoy.”

Jeffrey Godsick, the Executive Vice President of Brand Strategy & Partnerships at Sony Pictures Entertainment, added: “Spider-Man is known for its explosive action, humor and fun, and collaborating with Little Caesars, a brand recognized for its bold voice and playful spirit, on Spider-Man: Brand New Day was a natural fit.

Along with Holland and Zendaya, the cast for Spider-Man: Brand New Day includes Jacob Batalon and franchise newcomer Sadie Sink.

Brand New Day is set five years after the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home, which ended with Parker living in a universe where his loved ones do not remember him. Spider-Man: No Way Home became a sensation in cinemas, earning over $1.9 billion globally.

In a video message shown at CinemaCon in Las Vegas in April, Holland himself has described Brand New Day as “the most emotional Spider-Man movie yet.”
