Sen. Kennedy Serves Up a Savage Shredding of Eric Swalwell – RedState

Democratic Rep. Eric Swalwell (CA-14) resigned last week after multiple allegations of sexual misconduct and sexual assault.

The time between the allegations coming out and his resignation was short, and it was astonishing how quickly he was thrown under the bus by his fellow Democrats. But that also managed to push him out of the crowded Democratic field for the California governor’s race. Funny how that worked.

But the big question was why had this taken so long to come out when the issue had allegedly been going on for some time? And why was he promoted in the past by the Democrats and the media? It also raised questions for the people who were close to him, like his best buddy, Sen. Ruben Gallego (D-AZ), who struggled to claim he didn’t know what had been allegedly going on, despite all the time that he’d spent with Swalwell.

Both the Department of Justice (DOJ), the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office, and even the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) are now investigating various allegations against Swalwell.  So he may finally be facing some real consequences.

The ‘Who Knew What and When’ Phase of the Swalwell Scandal Begins, and I Have Thoughts

Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA), who has a gift for summing things up in distinctive fashion, ripped into Swalwell, including for the harm he’d done to the body he was supposed to serve.

Kennedy said he tried not to hate anyone, “I don’t. I do not. When I pray, I pray. God don’t let me hate because it is hard up here. It’s not worth it.”

“But if I had a short list of people that I would consider hating, Congressman Eric Swalwell would be on it. He has, he has undermined the confidence of the American people in this body.”

“Here’s my impression of Congressman Eric Swalwell eating an ice cream cone,” said  Kennedy as he motioned shoving an ice cream cone into his forehead.

“You know why I do that? Life is hard, but it’s harder when you’re stupid!” Kennedy declared.

That certainly nails Swalwell, but good. Even beyond the question of the allegations, Swalwell’s advancement was always a wonder, given he was not exactly a shining light and was known more for his relationship with Fang Fang than for any real achievement.

Swalwell Not the First – House Committee Has Long History of Investigating Members’ Bad Behavior

“This is no country for creepy old men,” Kennedy opined. “And Congressman Swalwell, he’s about to find that out. Karma may be slow, but it’s almost always on time.”

After 13 years in Congress, that karma appears to have finally caught up with Swalwell.
