Supermodel Izabel Goulart shocked fans with her changed appearance at the Cannes Film Festival on Monday

She’s one of the most successful international supermodels of the past 20 years. But some fans had trouble recognizing Izabel Goulart at Cannes earlier this week.

The former Victoria’s Secret Angel, 41, walked the film festival’s red carpet with a noticeably taut visage, while her striking eyes appeared to be slightly asymmetrical.

The Brazilian beauty also had an uncomfortably pinched expression as she posed for photos on Monday.

It’s unclear what caused her new look, but it may have been a result of her tight ponytail, which could have distorted some of her natural features.

Fans on social media were shocked by her appearance, with posts about Goulart racking up over a million views on platforms like X.

‘She’s way skinnier now and her eye is super pulled… I hope it was just a badly applied Botox and it goes away soon,’ commented one.

‘I’m gagging at the comments, everyone’s asking what she did,’ wrote a second.

‘I’m shocked at how Izabel Goulart has turned into a whole different person,’ added a third.

A fourth wrote, ‘I’m confused! What happened to her face? Why does she look SO different? Like it’s not even her.’

The Daily Mail has contacted Goulart’s representatives for comment.

Goulart, who appeared on the red carpet with her fiancé, German soccer superstar Kevin Trapp, has never publicly admitted to any major cosmetic surgery procedures.

However, she is a global ambassador for Merz Aesthetics, which offers injectable treatments including the neurotoxin Xeomin and the collagen-stimulating dermal filler Radiesse.

While she didn’t name the exact treatments she’s tried out, Goulart did confirm that she has skin treatments either ‘once a year’ or ‘once every six months.’

‘Medical aesthetics is about feeling good inside and out and doing all the things that empower yourself,’ Goulart said.

‘So, choosing the right treatments has always been very important for me. And science is what fascinates me.’

The supermodel has worked with luxury brands like Chanel, Balenciaga, Givenchy, Loewe, and Roberto Cavalli throughout her career.

She was a Victoria’s Secret Angel in 2005 and walked in the lingerie brand’s iconic runway show for over a decade.

She also appeared in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue and has covered multiple editions of Vogue.

A few years ago, Goulart gave her fans an insight into the diet and exercise regimen that have allowed her to retain her exquisite figure.

She engages in body-weight training, Pilates, kickboxing and running, asking her trainers to ‘train me like I will become a professional in that sport,’ she told Elle.

‘I am a model professionally but I’m also an athlete, a friend, a daughter, a sister and many other things. Training has helped me overcome stress and fears to be successful in other aspects of my life,’ she shared.

As for her diet, she explained, ‘I travel a lot, but when I’m home, I cook every day. In the mornings, I’ll make juices with fruits, vegetables and protein.’

She said that she was trying to avoid gluten in general, but would indulge in her fondness of bread and would often bake it for herself.

‘I try to keep the foods I put in my body as basic as possible: protein, carbs and vegetables. When I go out, I just try to make the healthiest choices on the menu.’
