The Real Housewives of Miami star Guerdy Abraira has shared her thoughts on what Teddi Mellencamp may be facing after undergoing surgery to remove brain tumors.
Teddi, 43, stunned fans last week when she revealed that doctors had discovered multiple tumors on her brain. She said she would undergo surgery to remove two of them, followed by radiation treatment at a later date for the smaller tumors.
Guerdy, 47, is also a Housewife who has spoken publicly about her own health struggles. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2023.
In October 2024, she marked one year in remission after undergoing six surgeries and chemotherapy, a difficult period that led her to shave her head.
After learning about the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star’s devastating diagnosis, Guerdy told DailyMail.com that her “heart dropped.”
She quickly contacted Teddi on Instagram, and Teddi responded with a heart emoji.

The RHOM star called Teddi a “fighter” after experiencing a similarly “unpleasant journey”
Teddi, 43, shocked fans last week by revealing that doctors had found multiple tumors on her brain and that she would need surgery
“It was so fast and furious. It was so sudden that my heart dropped because I know anything involving tumors and cancer is not a pleasant journey,” Guerdy told DailyMail.com in an interview at the South Beach Wine and Food Festival on February 18.
“But she’s a fighter, and she’s been through so many health scares and so much more. I’m glad to see that she’s surrounded by her family.
“What matters is having that support system and being able to see the light at the end of the tunnel.”
Teddi was previously diagnosed with stage 2 melanoma in 2022 and has had 17 melanomas removed over the past several years.
In an Instagram Story posted on the day of her emergency brain surgery, Teddi offered a glimpse inside her hospital room and showed some of the people supporting her, including best friend Kyle Richards, Morgan Wade and her estranged husband, Edwin Arroyave.
Edwin, 47, and Teddi had been in the process of divorcing after 13 years of marriage. However, sources told DailyMail.com earlier this week that they had paused the divorce amid her health battle.
Her stepdaughter Bella, 15, and children Slate, 12, Cruz, 10, and Dove, four, were also at her side.
Edwin later told fans that Teddi’s surgery “went well,” but said he had never seen her in “so much pain.”

As Teddi recovered in hospital, Edwin appeared to take on the parenting duties. He shared a photo from dinner with Bella, 15, Dove, four, and Cruz, 10
“She’s finally getting some much-needed rest. I know she is so grateful for the outpouring of love,” he told his followers.
Guerdy also praised the RHOBH alum for speaking openly about her health, saying she understands that sharing such personal battles “is not for everyone.”
“You have to be very strong and have a strong mindset when you do something like that—when you decide, ‘I’m going to move forward with it,’” she said.
“For me, I felt it would be hypocritical to share only the good and then retreat whenever something bad happened.
“When I signed up for the good, I also signed up for the bad and the indifferent.
“That was my way of dealing with it, and it pushed me to look closely at myself and focus on the issues at hand.”
She went on to describe being part of the Housewives franchise as a “healing journey.” Although the cast members may engage in plenty of “bickering,” Guerdy said the experience ultimately serves as “a growth mechanism and a tool,” adding that she is “thankful” to be part of the franchise.
Guerdy continued, “I’m considering myself a thriver right now. After cancer, you see a lot of things differently.

“Keep in mind that I also had to undergo a medically induced menopause, even though I wasn’t at the age to be in menopause, so my body is going through a lot of hormonal changes.”
She acknowledged that those hormonal changes are “affecting” her relationship with her husband, Russell. Fans will have to wait for the next season of RHOM to see how the situation unfolds.
Season seven began filming in September 2024, but Bravo has not yet announced a premiere date.
The network has confirmed that Stephanie Shojaee will join the cast after appearing at Bravo Fan Fest in Miami in November.
She will join returning cast members Guerdy, Larsa Pippen, Lisa Hochstein, Alexia Nepola and Julia Lemigova.
Guerdy told DailyMail.com, “I don’t want to get into too much trouble now, but I can say that it is very thirsty. I didn’t know Stephanie before, although I had heard about her.
“I always thought she was such a great boss, and she seems very confident and driven, just like me in business, so I felt we could get along well.
“You’ll have to watch and see whether we actually do, but I do think she’s an amazing, powerful woman.”
Guerdy said she would describe the upcoming season of RHOM as “very thirsty”
Guerdy revealed that her friendship with Larsa Pippen, which has been rocky in the past, is “definitely in a different place than it was last season”
Guerdy said she texted Larsa to ask whether she was OK after hearing about Marcus Jordan’s “unfortunate” arrest for DUI and cocaine possession
Speaking about her friendship with Larsa, which has faced difficulties in the past, Guerdy said their relationship is “definitely in a different place than it was last season.”
Larsa’s former partner, Marcus Jordan, was recently charged with cocaine possession, DUI and resisting arrest after he was found on a Florida train track in his Lamborghini.
Marcus, the son of basketball legend Michael Jordan, was arrested in the early hours of February 4 and booked into Orange County jail following a night out.
His bond was set at $4,000, and he was photographed leaving jail around noon that day.
He later addressed the situation on Instagram, writing, “I appreciate everyone reaching out.
“I’m focusing on @TrophyRoomStore right now and won’t be making any comments on recent media stories or my personal life.
“I sincerely appreciate your concerns and thank you for your kind understanding.”
Guerdy told DailyMail.com that she reached out to Larsa after hearing about the “unfortunate” incident involving her ex.
Guerdy hosted An Evening of Hydration & Libations with entertaining expert Paul Zahn on February 18 at the Loews Miami Beach Hotel during the SOBE Wine and Food Festival
“It’s unfortunate. We’re all people at the end of the day, and no one wants to see anybody do badly—at least I don’t,” she said.
“So I reached out to her and said, ‘Hey, are you OK? Is everything all right?’”
On Tuesday, Guerdy joined entertainment expert and television host Paul Zahn to co-host An Evening of Hydration & Libations with Icelandic Glacial Waters at the Loews Miami Beach Hotel.
Guests enjoyed drinks from George Strait’s Codigo Tequila and Villa Massa Limoncello at the event, which helped launch the SOBE Wine and Food Festival.
Guerdy said, “It’s Miami, and the weather is amazing here year-round, so being able to host this event is wonderful. It also raises money for FIU’s Chaplin School of Hospitality.
“I think it’s a great cause and an amazing opportunity for people to come together, enjoy the incredible new products on the market and, of course, feature these wonderful libations alongside Icelandic Glacial. It’s incredible.”
