It’s that time of the year again – the transfer window is now open until September 1 and it’s sure to be a busy period with clubs looking to make big signings ahead of next season. Here are today’s latest developments from Simon Jones and the Daily Mail Sport team…
Spurs pour cold water on Mason Greenwood speculation
Tottenham are not planning to move for Marseille striker Mason Greenwood this window.
The French side are looking to cash in on the 24-year-old as they face financial difficulties.
Roma have been discussing a deal for the former England international but are short of Marseille’s desired asking price.
Manchester United also retain a substantial 40 per cent sell-on clause.
Tottenham have been linked with Greenwood because of their coach Roberto de Zerbi previously working well with him but Daily Mail Sport understands they have no plans to join the bidding.

Leeds zero in on Charles and Darlow
Leeds United are stepping up interest in Southampton midfielder Shea Charles and are making a bold attempt for free agent former Germany international Julian Brandt.
Northern Ireland international Charles is valued over £20m and has drawn attention from Everton and Atalanta also in recent months.
Brandt, now 30, has flirted with moving to the Premier League in the past, notably with Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool.
He can play on either flank or behind the striker and scored 11 goals in 41 appearances for Dortmund last season.
Leeds also remain in discussions to re-sign goalkeeper Karl Darlow despite competition from old foes Manchester United.
The 35-year-old is out of contract at Elland Road and has attracted offers from Tottenham and United as they seek experienced competition.
Leeds have offered Darlow new terms after he made a strong finish to the campaign last season but talks are ongoing with rivals willing to offer a two-year deal.
United, who have also spoken about Wolves’ Sam Johnstone, have re-signed 40-year-old Tom Heaton as back-up for Senne Lammens with Altay Bayindir and Andre Onana still expected to move on.

Another Premier League club has also been making enquiries as interest builds.
Bayer Leverkusen and Monaco have also asked about the former Brazil youth international who only joined Toulouse last summer for £2.8m from Turkish side Goztepe.
