Piers Morgan and Gary Lineker have had many social media spats over the years and the former has thrown another jibe at the ex-England striker.

On Wednesday, Morgan announced that he will be spearheading a new podcast titled ‘World Cup Uncensored’.

The show will begin on June 8 and be available on YouTube, Spotify and Apple Podcast.

Morgan will be joined by Chelsea legend John Terry and talkSPORT presenter Simon Jordan.

And in promoting the new podcast, Morgan took a jab at Lineker with the unveiling of his promotional poster.

Taking to X, the poster of Morgan, Terry and Jordan included the tagline: ‘The Rest is Boring.’

That tagline is in reference to Lineker’s popular ‘The Rest is Football’ podcast which will be on Netflix daily during the 2026 World Cup.

According to the Telegraph, Morgan’s advert has not gone down well with some of Lineker’s Goalhanger podcast team ahead of its New York show starting next week.

Despite the annoyance, Morgan was quick to downplay any ill-feeling behind the tagline, telling the publication: ‘I would find it very, very hard to believe that Gary, in particular, wouldn’t have had a little chuckle. We’re good mates.

‘Of course, if they took it over-seriously, it would be reflecting, perhaps, the accuracy of the joke.

‘I know Gary really well. I’ve watched what they’ve been doing. I’ve got a lot of respect for it. I think it is the future. I think there’s plenty of room for both of us.

‘But, as he would know, a little bit of banter goes a long way in football.’

‘We may have a sort of ‘High Noon’ with me and Gary in Times Square.’
