To the outside world, Chrishell Stause and G Flip appeared completely besotted with each other.
The whirlwind relationship between the Selling Sunset star and the Australian musician unfolded in full public view. They spoke openly about their devotion, displayed plenty of affection on red carpets and even had the vows from their unofficial wedding ceremony permanently tattooed on their bodies.
Their romance was “the stuff of fairytales,” an insider told Our News Outlet, describing G Flip, who is non-binary, as “the Prince Charming to Chrishell’s Cinderella.”
“It was like G Flip swooped in and saved Chrishell from a life of heartbreak and pain,” the source said. “G Flip was the hero in this story, with Chrishell the trophy.”
But unlike most fairytales, their story has ended in heartbreak.
Stause, 45, announced in a tearful Instagram video on Tuesday that her four-year relationship with 33-year-old G Flip—whose real name is Georgia Claire Flipo—was over.
“They began fighting a lot and it really wore G Flip out. G Flip didn’t like the drama,” the insider told Our News Outlet (pictured in 2023)
The Selling Sunset star, 45, shared the news in an emotional Instagram video (pictured), telling fans she does not yet “have all the information or the reasons” behind their breakup
“G and I are no longer together, and we have agreed to treat this public separation with love and respect for each other,” Stause said. “That’s not hard for me because I am in love with this person.”
She said she felt “like a little bit of a failure” after two failed marriages, referring to her 2021 divorce from her former husband, This Is Us actor Justin Hartley.
“There’s nothing you could say about me that would be worse than what I say to myself, so I just have to kind of heal and figure this out,” she said. “It’s hard. It’s painful. I’m a lover girl. I swing big. I miss, or maybe I don’t miss.”
Stause described her years with G Flip as “amazing” while acknowledging that she was now “coming to terms with it being a different ending.”
She also appeared to suggest that the breakup had caught her off guard, telling followers that she did not yet “have all the information or the reasons” for their separation.
According to the insider, however, tensions had been building “over a year ago,” with Stause’s alleged demanding behavior said to have contributed to the strain.
“They began fighting a lot and it really wore G Flip out. G Flip didn’t like the drama,” the insider said.
Their love story began nearly five years ago after a chance encounter at a Halloween party in Los Angeles, where both happened to arrive dressed as skeletons.
“They had incredible chemistry right away, which took them both aback,” the insider said. “There was an intense attraction even though Chrishell was over ten years older than G.”
At the time, both were in relationships. Stause, who had finalized her divorce from Hartley that year, was dating her Selling Sunset co-star Jason Oppenheim. G Flip, who uses they/them pronouns, was seeing former Bachelorette Brooke Blurton.
By the end of 2021, both relationships had ended, and within months G Flip and Stause had begun dating.
The insider said problems began brewing “over a year ago,” with Stause’s alleged demanding behavior partly to blame (pictured in 2023)
“They were glowing, they were in love,” the source said. “And they did not want to hide anything” (pictured in 2024)
“Once they started dating, things went fast,” the source said. “The ‘I love yous’ rolled out. They moved quickly. Chrishell knew how to keep G Flip entertained with plenty of hot sex and luxury vacations—it was a dream for both of them.”
The couple began posting about each other on social media in March 2022. Two months later, Stause confirmed their relationship during the season five reunion of Selling Sunset. The following year, they exchanged vows in a non-legally binding Las Vegas ceremony and soon had those vows tattooed.
“They were glowing, they were in love,” the source said. “And they did not want to hide anything. They were out and proud, and they loved the positive feedback they got from that. They were the toast of the showbiz world.”
G Flip’s admiration for Stause was clear. The musician called her “hot AF” and cast her in the music video for Get Me Outta Here. Stause, meanwhile, frequently praised G Flip’s musical talent and traveled more than 7,000 miles across the Pacific from Los Angeles to Australia to support her partner.
The pair were also candid about their sex life and their journey toward starting a family.
The reality star—who ended her relationship with Oppenheim, 49, because they had different views on having children—said last April that she was “actively trying” to grow their family. G Flip also spoke openly about the difficulties of in vitro fertilization, describing the process as “really sad” and “very grim” to People in September 2025.
Although the couple renewed their vows in July that year, the insider claimed their relationship began deteriorating in the months afterward, following Stause’s departure from Selling Sunset after nine seasons.
“Chrishell likes to stay busy and she likes being a star. She thrives on it, and she is a very good celebrity—she works hard at it and is smart about always looking her best,” the source said.
“I think after Chrishell left her show, she felt insecure, like, ‘What do I do now?’”
The change appeared to create further tension in their relationship.
“The strain started to show as Chrishell became demanding,” the source said. “She is very ambitious. She wanted to be on a big reality TV show after Selling Sunset. She felt she deserved that, but it didn’t materialize because Hollywood is tricky.”

The source claimed Stause became clingy and “wanted all of G Flip’s time and attention,” creating additional tension
G Flip, 33, said they would always love Stause in a statement posted hours after her announcement. The insider added: “There is so much love there, but they just could not find a balance”
The source said Stause, frustrated by the direction of her career, threw herself into attending events.
“She needed the private car, stylist, red carpet, great photos and gift bag. She fell into the trap. She loved staying in the news,” the insider added.
One eyewitness described seeing similar behavior at a Beverly Hills rooftop party hosted by Snapchat, claiming Stause arrived with “a large entourage” and acted “very A-list.”
“Very few people could get near her,” the eyewitness said. “She had big movie star energy.”
The insider claimed that attitude had begun to frustrate G Flip, saying Stause became clingy and “wanted all of G Flip’s time and attention.”
“It just became all about Chrishell,” the source added. “She wanted to be catered to. But G Flip has their own career.”
The couple’s 12-year age difference was also reportedly a source of insecurity.
“G Flip is in their early 30s, and Chrishell is heading toward 50,” the source said. “An age difference like that can create insecurities even though Chrishell is still stunningly beautiful.”
Hours after Stause shared her tearful Instagram announcement, G Flip posted a written statement of their own: “After 4+ years Chrishell and I are no longer together. I will always love her, we will always share a special connection and I cherish our memories together deeply.
“My head & heart are feeling very heavy right now and I’m not able to talk, but I want to thank you all for your support and appreciate you respecting our privacy at this difficult time.”
In the end, love was not enough to keep the relationship together.
“There is so much love there, but they just could not find a balance,” the insider said. “At the end of the day, they are both heartbroken because the fairytale is over. There is no happily ever after.”
