Registration for the 2026 BYD Singapore International Marathon presented by adidas is now open starting from Apr. 27, 2026.

Registration ends on Sep. 30 or when the slots are fully taken up, according to a press release by event organiser SG International Marathon Pte Ltd (SGIMPL).

Costs

The full marathon event costs S$188 for local runners and S$208 for international runners.

The half-marathon event costs S$168 for local runners and S$188 for international runners.

The 10km event costs S$130 for local runners and S$150 for international runners.

The 5km event costs S$98 for local runners and S$118 for international runners.

The Kids Dash 600m costs S$50.

The Kids Dash 1.6km costs S$55 and S$60 for the competitive category.

Standard Chartered cardholders get 10 per cent off registration fees across all categories.

Static pricing this year

The pricing for race entries will follow a static pricing system this year to ensure prices remain consistent throughout the registration period or until race entries are all sold out, the event organiser said.

Shalindran Sathiyanesan, SGIMPL event director, said: “We’ve introduced a fixed pricing system to provide greater clarity and fairness for runners, so everyone has equal access to race entries without having to navigate multiple price tiers.”

“With a defined race capacity, this also allows us to better manage the overall race experience,” he added.

The multiple price tiers system was exercised in previous years.

There were three tiers of prices.

The price would increase as race entries sold out.

Previously, local participants also had lower entry fees compared to international runners.

Prices have been going up

In the previous 2025 iteration when the event was still known as Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon (SCSM), the early registration price for the full marathon event was S$137.

Early registration fees rose from S$104 in 2022, to S$113 in 2023, and then to S$119 in 2024.

Capped at 52,000 participants

The event is capped at 52,000 participants across all categories over the three-day race weekend this year.

The 1.6km competitive race category for children between 10 and 12 years old has 300 slots available on a first-come first-served basis.

In 2025, SCSM had 55,000 runners across all categories, which saw complaints of congestion along the route and near the finish line.

National championships

A total of 60 of Singapore’s fastest runners, comprising 30 men and 30 women, will compete across the marathon and half-marathon categories through a merit-based selection process.

Podium finishers from the 2025 National Championships will gain automatic entry this year.

An additional invitation will also be extended to the reigning half-marathon champion to participate in the marathon.

In 2025, Soh Rui Yong won the men’s half-marathon with a time of 1:14:58, and Nicole Low won the women’s title with a time of 1:23:45.

Soh Rui Yong also won the full marathon last year with a time of 2:46:23.

Increase in prize money

The prize money for winners has been increased for the 2026 edition to S$177,500 in total, a 200 per cent increase from previous years.

The winner of the marathon for the men’s and women’s categories will receive SS$30,000 each, a three-fold increase in prize money.

The second, third, fourth, and fifth places get S$15,000, S$10,000, S$5,000, and S$3,750, respectively.

The winners of the half-marathon for the men’s and women’s categories will receive S$7,500 each.

The second, third, fourth, and fifth places get S$4,500, S$3,000, S$1,500, and S$1,200, respectively.

Embed Financial Group Holdings (EFGH) is the first naming partner of the National Championships since its integration into Singapore’s national marathon race weekend.
