KATSEYE canceled its concert at Detroit’s Little Caesars Arena on Tuesday just 30 minutes before showtime after member Megan Skiendiel became ill.
The girl group explained the last-minute decision in a statement shared on Instagram Stories.
“Unfortunately, Megan is unwell and unable to perform tonight, and we want to make sure she has the time she needs to rest and recover,” the group said.
“We know so many of you have traveled, made plans and been looking forward to tonight.
“We are incredibly disappointed that we won’t get to see you, and we’re truly sorry for the inconvenience.”
The group continued: “Thank you for your patience, understanding and for always showing us so much love. We love you and can’t wait to see you soon.”
The Daily Mail has contacted KATSEYE representatives for additional comment.

Little Caesars Arena also confirmed the postponement in a series of posts. “We’re sorry to share that the KATSEYE show scheduled for tonight at Little Caesars Arena has been postponed,” the venue said.
“Please hold on to your tickets, as they’ll be valid for the new date once announced. Ticket holders will receive an email with more information shortly.”
The venue added: “We sincerely apologize for the disappointment and inconvenience, especially to those who traveled to be with us tonight.”
Sources told Billboard that KATSEYE completed a VIP soundcheck without Skiendiel, who was resting ahead of the concert.
Attendees had already entered the arena when a message announcing that the performance would not proceed appeared on the venue’s large screens, according to the outlet.
The group is next scheduled to perform at Chicago’s United Center on Thursday, provided Skiendiel is well enough to take the stage.
Fans on X responded to the last-minute cancellation with mixed reactions. Some called the short notice unacceptable, while others argued that the singers appeared to be working beyond their limits.
“I spent over a thousand dollars, took off work and made so many sacrifices to be here,” one user wrote. “I had a feeling this was going to happen.”

The Detroit venue asked fans to keep their tickets for a rescheduled performance
“They had no problem leaving those merch booths open though. I’ve been with them since [Dream] Academy, but when you mess with my money, I’m dropping you,” the fan added.
Another person wrote: “They literally canceled it half an hour before the show started, after everyone had reached their seats. How considerate.”
“Thirty minutes before the show? You’ve got to be kidding me,” another user said.
“You’ve got thousands of fans, many of whom traveled for hours, paid outrageous ticket, hotel and parking prices, missed a day or more of school, and you pull this,” the person continued.
One concertgoer recalled arriving shortly after the cancellation notice appeared. “We walked in five minutes after the announcement went up on screen, and the lights were on,” the person wrote.
“I feel so bad for all the little girls sobbing, but genuinely, when are they going to fit in the reschedule? I’m concerned. They need to make these announcements sooner.”
Other fans said the cancellation highlighted the need for KATSEYE to receive more time off. They noted that two members, Sophia Laforteza and Manon Bannerman, have taken hiatuses this year amid the group’s demanding schedule.
“They NEED a break,” one user wrote, adding that “these girls’ health and well-being are far more important than carrying on when they are not well enough to tour.”
Fans on X had mixed reactions to the last-minute cancellation, with some criticizing the timing and others saying the singers were being pushed too hard
“I’m glad they postponed the show and prioritized the members, but I feel so bad for everyone who was excited to see them tonight,” another fan wrote.
A different user said KATSEYE should consider taking 2027 off to recover. “It’s clear these girls are exhausted, and the company needs to recognize that,” they wrote.
“Let 2027 be their year to rest, recover and regroup so they can return in 2028 with all members healthy, refreshed and ready for a new era. Their health should come before a schedule.”
KATSEYE is currently on its successful WILDWORLD TOUR, which includes sold-out dates across Europe and North America.
The group is scheduled to finish its 2026 run on November 28 at Mexico City’s Palacio de los Deportes. KATSEYE will then have two months off before beginning an Asia, Australia and New Zealand tour on January 27 at Japan’s Yokohama Arena.
