Kim Kardashian was famously held at gunpoint during a robbery in Paris in October 2016. Now, her biographer claims she faced a gunman again during a separate incident just two years later.
According to journalist Jonathan Van Meter, the now 46-year-old mogul had a gun pointed at her head during an October 2018 trip to Uganda with her then-husband, Kanye West.
Van Meter’s book, Citizen Kim: The Woman Who Created the Future, was released on Tuesday. It recounts Kardashian and West’s trip to Africa, describing the period as one in which their relationship had reached “a point of no return.”
The Daily Mail has contacted representatives for Kardashian and West for comment.
Van Meter wrote that Farnaz Farjam, an executive producer on Keeping Up with the Kardashians, first recognized the severity of the couple’s problems during their 2018 African trip.
The group was filming at a remote location in Uganda when West reportedly became increasingly paranoid and agitated, according to Farjam.

Farjam told Van Meter that the situation then escalated. She alleged that West persuaded local police that people were trying to drug him, prompting officers to arrive with their weapons drawn and search everyone’s rooms.
Van Meter wrote that, at one point, one of the officers allegedly held a gun to Kardashian’s head. Farjam described the episode as “intense.”
Concerned about the safety of herself and her crew, Farjam said she eventually arranged a private jet to take them out of the country.
Although the incident reportedly caused chaos, Farjam told Van Meter that she forgave West for what she called the “Africa fiasco” because he lives with bipolar disorder and, in her view, was experiencing a manic episode.
Kardashian and West visited Uganda in October 2018, where they distributed Yeezy sneakers to Ugandan children and met then-president Yoweri Museveni.
The couple began dating in 2012, became engaged in October 2013 and married in Florence, Italy, in May 2014.
Their relationship endured a series of turbulent moments, including Kardashian’s armed robbery in Paris, the reported incident in Uganda and West’s highly publicized mental health struggles. Kardashian filed for divorce in February 2021.
Their divorce and joint-custody agreement were finalized in November 2022. They have four children: North, 13, Saint, 10, Chicago, eight, and Psalm, seven.

Last month, a Paris court awarded Kardashian one euro ($1.15) in compensation after finding that she was a victim of the 2016 armed robbery in the French capital.
The terrifying October 2016 raid saw Kardashian lose jewelry worth about $10 million, including a $4 million engagement ring from West that has never been recovered.
Two members of the robbery gang, disguised as police officers, forced their way into her suite, restrained her with zip ties and tape, and left the reality star fearing she could be raped or killed.
Because of their ages, the suspects became known in France as “les papys braqueurs,” or “the grandpa robbers.” Six were in their 60s and 70s when they stood trial on charges including armed robbery, kidnapping and gang association.
Kardashian has tried to move forward after a court last year convicted eight people for their roles in what she called “the most terrifying experience of my life.”
A lawyer involved in the case said the one euro award was the amount Kardashian had requested.
In a joint statement last month with her stylist Simone Harouche, who was also present during the robbery, Kardashian said she was grateful to the French justice system.
“The experience was deeply traumatic, and its impact has stayed with us. Today’s decision is not about the compensation, but about accountability and recognition,” Kardashian said.

“We are thankful to the Court and everyone who supported us throughout this process, and we hope to now move forward and continue to heal,” she added.
The court awarded €109,516 ($126,472) to a former receptionist at the Hôtel de Pourtalès, according to his lawyer. Kardashian was staying at the hotel when the robbery gang targeted her.
The receptionist said the October 2, 2016, jewelry heist during Paris Fashion Week had left him traumatized. He had sought €550,000 ($634,868) in damages and interest. His lawyer, Mohand Ouidja, described the ruling as a victory.
The hotel received €50,000 ($57,741), while Harouche, Kardashian’s stylist and a witness to the robbery, was awarded one euro—the amount she had requested.
None of those convicted returned to prison because they had already served time in pretrial detention. No one appealed the verdict.
Following the convictions, Kardashian said she was “deeply grateful to the French authorities for pursuing justice in this case.”
