Inside Charlie Sheen and Denise Richard's family turmoil as daughter Lola breaks silence on feud with sister Sami

Denise Richards is bringing viewers inside her family life with the new reality series Denise Richards and Her Wild Things, and the show has already delivered several startling revelations. Among them: her daughters, Lola, 19, and Sami, 21, went an entire year without speaking.

The series’ early episodes explore the sisters’ strained relationship as the 54-year-old actress attempts to help them move beyond their long-running conflict.

Their tension intensified after Sami ended a relationship with a man who had previously been Lola’s best friend.

In an exclusive interview with DailyMail.com, Lola Sheen—Denise and Charlie Sheen’s younger daughter, who recently chose to be baptized—discussed the breakdown and repair of her relationship with Sami. She also addressed OnlyFans, cosmetic surgery and her bond with her famous father after her parents’ bitter custody dispute played out in public.

Lola said she was uncertain about joining the show when filming was scheduled to begin in summer 2024. She did not make her final decision until just three days before production started.

“I sat with the Lord on it for a really long time and then I decided it would be a good opportunity to spread his light in that business where it’s not really common for people to talk about Jesus,” she said.

Allowing cameras into a part of her life she had always protected felt deeply vulnerable, Lola said. But she explained that she “serves an audience of one”—Jesus—and ultimately decided that other people’s opinions did not matter.

“I was very judgmental of myself in the beginning, but I realized, like, ‘It’s okay to be different. It’s okay to not be like everybody else on TV.’”

“So that was the hardest part for me, I think,” she added.

When the show premiered on March 4, viewers learned that Lola and Sami had been estranged for a year because of a dispute involving a man. Lola said the situation was portrayed in a way that was “very misinterpreted on the show.”

The restaurant hostess explained that the conflict traced back to an accident when she was 16. She, her boyfriend at the time and his friend were involved in a car crash.

After the accident, Lola became particularly close to her boyfriend’s friend because they had shared what she described as a traumatic experience.

Sami later met the young man and briefly dated him before their relationship ended.

“I didn’t want to just end my friendship with him because I still had sort of the same friends,” Lola said. “So initially, she was just upset that I still had him a part of my life, but it felt unfair to me, because I was best friends with him before.”

Lola said she and Sami are now “definitely good,” and hinted that Sami may even have rekindled her relationship with the man whose connection to both sisters helped fuel the dispute.

The content creator, who recently launched the Heavenly Bonded podcast, said the sisters began repairing their relationship during Thanksgiving 2024, when the family gathered at Denise’s home.

“It was so special. We just ended up talking. And then our best friends were there,” she recalled. “So they were like, ‘Guys, you just have to work this out.’”

“And then we ended up talking and laughing together, and it was really sweet.”

Lola also offered a candid look at the sisters’ dynamic, saying they have not always been inseparable.

“We have never been really best friends. When I was young, maybe,” she said.

“We’ve never been the sisters that are really best friends, you know. It’s like she gets weirded out if I even try to hug her. That’s just normal—she loves in a different way towards me. It’s always been that way.”

The sisters’ biggest confrontation occurred while the series was being filmed. Lola recalled that working alongside Sami was difficult because they were “at such odds.”

Yet filming together ultimately helped bring them “closer again,” she said, because the production required them to spend time together and work through their differences.

Lola told DailyMail.com that she and Sami mended their relationship on November 2024. She recalled, 'It was so special. We just like ended up talking. And then our best friends were there. So they were like, "Guys, you just have to work this out"'

“I think we will always fight, but it’s not so intense—like sisters always fight, whether it’s clothes or whatever it is,” Lola said. She explained that the pair have different tastes and are not the type of siblings who regularly exchange clothes or accessories.

If the show returns for a second season, Lola said she would like viewers to see how she and Sami have returned to a more familiar rhythm and how their bond continues to change.

The family’s complicated history began before Lola was born. Her parents, Charlie Sheen, 59, and Denise, ended their four-year marriage in 2005 while Denise was six months pregnant with Lola.

Although their divorce was finalized in 2006, the former couple remained locked in a lengthy custody dispute. Charlie, the Two and a Half Men star, filed in 2019 to modify his child-support arrangement.

After the divorce, Denise adopted another daughter, Eloise, in 2011. Eloise, who has a rare chromosomal disorder, also appears on the reality show.

As the custody battle continued to make headlines, Denise married Aaron Phypers in September 2018 after the couple had dated for about a year.

In October 2021, Charlie’s support payments were reduced to “zero dollars” after he argued in court that Sami was living with him at the time.

Lola, who lives with Denise, said she still spends plenty of time with her father. Charlie does not appear regularly on the family series, although he features in an upcoming episode.

“We’ve always been close. I love him a lot, and he’s always there for me. He’s never not been there,” Lola told DailyMail.com.

“He’s very sweet. He’s a very good person. He just is doing normal things, I guess. He’s very laid back.”

Lola’s approach to supporting herself is also notably different from Sami’s. Sami is known for maintaining an OnlyFans account, where paying subscribers can access sexually explicit material.

Lola has chosen a more conservative lifestyle. She lives at home, helps care for the family’s dogs, works at a restaurant and focuses on “picking up my cross every day and being like [Jesus] as much as I can.”

Sami joined OnlyFans in June 2022, several months after turning 18.

During a confessional on Denise Richards and Her Wild Things, Sami explained that she was working at a small candy store in Malibu when she made the decision.

“But I really wanted to start supporting myself. Candy shop ain’t gonna cut it!” she said.

Denise joined the platform a few weeks later in an effort to support her daughter.

Sami joined OnlyFans in June 2022, shortly after turning 18. Lola told DailyMail.com, “I would never judge anybody for doing OnlyFans because that has nothing to do with me. But for me, I just know that it can be not the best for your mental health”

Lola said she does not oppose cosmetic surgery, but does not see it as something she wants for herself after an unpleasant experience with lip filler

Lola told DailyMail.com how she feels about her mother and sister joining the subscription-based platform.

“I would never judge anybody for doing OnlyFans because that has nothing to do with me. But for me, I just know that it can be not the best for your mental health.”

“My reaction was just a little worried, but not judgmental, you know—just a little concerned, because she’s putting herself out there to all these people. I didn’t want it to take a toll on her as a person, so that’s why I was worried.”

Although Lola said she would never encourage someone to pursue that work, she emphasized that she is not condemning either of them and respects that it is their decision.

“I feel the same way about both of them [joining OnlyFans]. It’s what they want to do. It’s not what I would do. I would never want my kids to do that.

“So it’s kind of just like, it is not for me. But it’s clearly what they like. And that’s okay.”

In the March 11 episode, Sami visited a plastic surgeon to discuss a possible nose job. She had previously undergone breast augmentation in November 2023.

The influencer told the cameras that she had been bullied for resembling her father. One cruel comment told her, “You’ll never be as pretty as your mom.”

Lola said the bullying was not the sole reason Sami pursued surgery, but it reinforced feelings she had already carried for years.

“It wasn’t [just] because she got bullied. She said she’s been wanting it for so long. On top of it, she got bullied for her nose, but it was always something she never liked on her face, so that’s why she did it.”

For now, Lola has no plans to undergo plastic surgery herself.

“I think whatever makes people happy. I never have a right to say what people do to their body, because, like, I have no voice for that,” she said.

The 19-year-old acknowledged that she has tried a cosmetic treatment, revealing that she had “a little lip filler a year ago.”

However, she said the experience was painful and one she would not repeat.

“I hated it. It hurt really bad,” Lola said.

If she ever considers cosmetic surgery, she said she would likely wait until she was older.

“I just want to age gracefully. I don’t really care about looking whatever. I wouldn’t do lip filler again. I just think it made my smile different,” she explained.

Lola hopes viewers see her as her genuine self on the show and understand that people do not need to change their appearance to be attractive or accepted.

“You can just be you the way you are now. And you don’t have to change anything to be prettier, or whatever it may be,” she said.

“You know, I’m not perfect. No one will ever be perfect.”

Supportive messages from viewers have helped her cope with the imperfections she feels are visible on screen.

“I have seen people comment on my Instagram or on my testimony video and they’re like, ‘Oh, my gosh! I love the show. You interpret Jesus really well.’ And that was so sweet for me to see,” she said.

Lola opened up about her spiritual journey on Instagram after being baptized earlier this year. She said her renewed faith came after depression left her feeling as though she had reached “rock bottom.”

“I love my church so much. I go to whatever event they’ll have. I do go with some friends on Sunday, and then sometimes I go to this thing on Thursday, and then whatever little things they’ll have during the week. I would go every day if I could.”

Looking ahead, Lola said she is trusting God with what comes next. Within the next year or so, she hopes to attend her dream school, Pepperdine University in Malibu, where she may study journalism. She also has ambitions of becoming an author.
