Dua Lipa’s fans had their knives out after her husband Callum Turner’s rumored ex-girlfriend made what they interpreted to be critical comments about him.
Turner, 36, has never confirmed that he dated the influencer Victoria Villarroel, but fans and internet sleuths have alleged that the two dated briefly in 2023.
Villarroel, who is the former assistant of Kylie Jenner, also doesn’t appear to have confirmed a past relationship with the actor, but fans were more convinced than ever that she was shading him and their former relationship in a resurfaced clip circulating on social media.
The video, an excerpt from Villarroel and Stassie Karanikolaou’s Better Half podcast from February 2026, featured Karanikolaou bringing up her co-host’s ‘ex British boy.’
Villarroel shared with listeners that her ex is currently ‘engaged’ to a ‘famous person.’
Karanikolaou marveled at how the man’s current life is the ‘complete opposite’ of what he wanted with Villarroel when they dated in the past.

The Daily Mail has reached out to representatives for both Turner and Villarroel for comment.
‘So that’s why I’m like who were you then?’ Villarroel said of her ex. ‘Like were you lying to me because that’s what you actually wanted.
‘This man would be like, “I would never date somebody that gets paparazzi. I would never date a famous person. I would never go to the Met Gala. That’s corny.”‘
Notably, Turner and Lipa, who recently married in Italy, are known for their loved-up paparazzi outings, and they famously made their red carpet debut as a couple at the 2025 Met Gala in New York City.
Villarroel reiterated that her ex had told her numerous times while they were together that he ‘would never’ be into the Hollywood lifestyle.
Villarroel then made the bombshell claim that she was on a dinner date with her ex when he first met his now-fiancée.
‘My ex-boyfriend is now engaged to someone who he met while he was having dinner with me,’ she said. ‘Like she sat next to us at this restaurant in London.’
Villarroel referred to the entire situation as ‘crazy,’ before joking that her boyfriend troubles often make her friends feel better about their own love lives.

‘Every time any of my friends have issues with their ex-boyfriends, I just talk about my ex-boyfriend and what I go through, so they can, like, feel better about, like, you know, what it could be.
‘It actually could be worse, because I’m living it, you know,’ she said.
Villarroel also claimed later in the podcast that her unnamed ex refused to post about her on social media and that he would not allow her to post anything involving him on her own accounts.
She described the unnamed British ex as being a ‘private’ person who wanted to keep his personal life completely out of the spotlight.
While the episode was released months ago, it began resurfacing online this week following Turner and Lipa’s lavish wedding on June 6.
Much of the chatter speculating that Villarroel’s fame-averse British ex-boyfriend is Turner kicked off on Reddit, with many coming to Turner’s defense in the wake of his and Lipa’s nuptials.
Some even cruelly called Villarroel’s experience with her ex a ‘humiliation ritual,’ as they argued that ‘people change for the person they want to be with.’
‘Honestly it sucks for her and I don’t begrudge her for feeling bitter but he didn’t cheat and sometimes it just happens that you meet someone and know they’re a better match for you than the person you’re already with,’ one Redditor penned.

‘It sounds like Callum is just so happy to be with Dua that he no longer cares about paparazzi or thinking the Met Gala is corny.’
Several fans even speculated that Villarroel’s former partner ‘didn’t like her that much’ and that’s why he did not want to go public with her.
However, Villarroel did have some fierce defenders, who argued that the influencer has ‘a right to recount her time with’ her ex.
‘Had the roles been reversed I think everyone would be much more sympathetic. I don’t think she sounds bitter or anything either,’ another Redditor wrote of Villarroel’s podcast admission.
The brewing drama comes just weeks after Turner and Lipa’s June wedding.
Three days after they officially married at Marylebone town hall in London, the couple jetted off to the island of Sicily for their three-day wedding party in the town of Palermo.
The celebrations, which were reported to have cost £1.5million, were held in the historical Villa Valguarnera, where a blessing was held for the couple.
The two met in January 2024 at a party in Los Angeles, where they bonded over reading the same novel, Trust by Hernan Diaz.

Lipa’s close friend, Sir Elton John, performed his hit Your Song at the wedding celebration, while fellow pop star Charli XCX and fashion icon Donatella Versace were also guests.
Lipa looked incredible in an haute couture Chanel gown by designer Matthieu Blazy, after she finally revealed photos of her look on Instagram over the weekend.
The backless halter neck gown, embellished with thousands of silver and white beads, had a huge train covered in 25,000 feathers.
Lipa wore a plume of feathers in her hair that was joined to her cathedral veil, which took 3,220 hours to embroider.
Turner, meanwhile, cut a dapper figure in a bespoke Louis Vuitton suit.
The newly released photos showed the couple celebrating their marriage as they partied until 6 a.m. with a spectacular ten-minute firework display.
With a glass of champagne in hand, Lipa looked the picture of happiness as she danced the night away.

The night before, they hosted a cocktail party at the Galleria Moderna, where the bride stunned in a custom-made Bottega Veneta dress.
Lipa was given away by her father, Dukagjin, who acts as her manager, while Turner’s beloved mother, the former nightclub doorwoman Rose Turner, was also handed a ‘special’ role at the weddings.
Sources close to the couple say that they are looking forward to ‘having babies.’
One friend told the Daily Mail: ‘They are so in love, they want to be together forever, and they want to be parents in the not too distant future. They are both so family orientated. It’s so exciting.’
The newlyweds are currently on their honeymoon in Rome.
