Celebrities have begun to descend upon the 2026 American Music Awards red carpet… and many of them failed to impress with their awkward frocks and bizarre ensembles.
The event, hosted by Queen Latifah, is set to kick off at 8pm EST at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, and will honor the biggest artists in the music industry.
Taylor Swift, Sabrina Carpenter, Olivia Dean and Lady Gaga are amongst the top nominees this year.
Many of Hollywood’s most elite have already arrived on the carpet ahead of the ceremony, and while some wowed in their glamorous dresses and stunning ensembles… others completely missed the mark.
From over-the-top ruffles and eye-popping patterns to clashing colors and nearly-naked looks, the glittering soiree has been filled with a slew of sartorial nightmares and fashion fails.
Melanie Martinez, Bebe Rexha, Paula Abdul, Lisa Rinna and Karol G are amongst the stars who shocked with their unflattering outfits.
Here are the most disastrous looks from the 2026 American Music Awards.
Melanie Martinez’s outfit choice for the 2026 American Music Awards was dramatic… to say the least. She donned a strapless brown dress that contained a feathered skirt, immense puffy sleeves and a dramatic tail that resembled an old torn up blanket
Paula Abdul hit the carpet in a bold white gown which contained a huge piece of fabric that wrapped around her shoulder and waist. Between that and the puffy skirt, we weren’t a fan of the look
Bebe Rexha arrived at the AMAs in a black body suit, a piercing leather skirt and fishnet tights. We don’t know which was worse… the odd wrinkly texture of the skirt or the over-the-top belts and buckles
Lisa Rinna was spotted in a pair of bellbottom brown pants and a matching suit jacket – with no shirt underneath. She accessorized with a blue and yellow polka-dotted tie which contained a pictured of John F. Kennedy on it
Karol G arrived in a huge puffy skirt and ripped, mesh, see-through crop top which left her black bra and toned midriff on full display. The ensembled looked like it would be better fit for a Halloween party than for the AMAs
YouTuber Eva Gutowski wore a bizarre turtleneck dress made out of pieces of string that just barely covered her assets. The social media star’s peculiar frock had fabric hanging off of it in every direction… talk about a fashion fail
DJ Steve Aoki’s bright orange outfit certainly ensured all eyes would be on him… but not for the right reasons. The music producer arrived at the AMAs in some orange cargo pants and a matching spiky jacket, which he paired with two different shoes
Viral musician Mr Fantasy, who many believe is the alter ego of actor KJ Apa, hit the red carpet in a dramatic green striped suit which he paired with a purple and green tie, and the different colors totally clashed
Singer Ashlee Keating’s bedazzled mini dress earned her a spot on the worst dressed list. The gown was completely covered in rhinestones and had tassels hanging off the arms, and it was chaotic, to say the least
TV host and singer Flavia Laos’ risqué black gown left very little to imagination. The sheer number contained a thigh-high slit, cut-outs in the midriff area and a patterned skirt, and there was just too much going on
Singer Kimiko Glenn arrived at the AMAs in a questionable look. She opted for a tiny crop top and a pair of black undies, completing the look with a sparkly skirt and some dramatic heels
Singer Teddy Swims decided to wear shorts on the red carpet… and we’re not too sure how we feel about it. He donned a bright blue suit jacket and matching shorts, completing the look with high socks, brown dress shoes and a slew of eye-popping necklaces
South Korean singer EJAE’s mustard dress looked more like a curtain draped around her body than a gown. And the bright blue gloves she chose to accessorize with did nothing to help the bizarre look
Actress and comedian Megan Stalter, who posed with Paul W. Downs, certainly chose a strange look for the evening. She hit the carpet in a pair of jeans and a top made out of fur
GloRilla’s top was just a small piece of fabric around her chest, leaving some underboob peeking out. She paired the barely-there top with a matching skirt
