NBA star Hassan Whiteside's stunning $14.8 million modernist Miami mansion finds a buyer for the FOURTH time

Hassan Whiteside’s expansive Miami waterfront estate has returned to the market after a pending deal became the fourth contract attached to the property since May.

The six-bedroom Miami Beach mansion is now listed at $14.8 million, a notable drop from its original $19.5 million asking price in January 2025.

Positioned behind gates at 528 Lakeview Court, the home delivers a level of luxury designed to rival an upscale resort.

Completed in 2014, the three-level residence covers 5,406 square feet and sits on a 0.41-acre parcel with approximately 90 feet of waterfront.

Its boating amenities include a 45-foot dock, three spaces for Jet Skis and a route providing direct access to the ocean—an appealing alternative to navigating Miami’s roads.

The tri-level interior is finished with generous living and dining rooms, hardwood and marble flooring, bespoke cabinetry and a gourmet kitchen fitted with premium Wolf and Miele appliances.

A built-in aquarium adds an unexpected showpiece to the already extravagant residence.

The primary bedroom opens to its own terrace and features a spa-style bathroom along with an expansive walk-in wardrobe.

Whiteside purchased the Miami Beach home in 2016 for $7.3 million, meaning the current asking price is more than double what he originally paid

For leisure and entertaining, the house includes a high-tech theater, private gym, custom bar and rooftop lounge equipped with a fire pit and television.

The outdoor spaces are equally elaborate, centered around a resort-inspired pool with a waterfall, a summer kitchen and several areas designed for gatherings under the Florida sun.

A gated lot and secluded setting in Miami Beach’s Lakeview neighborhood give the estate a quieter atmosphere, away from the area’s busiest tourist districts.

Still, the remarkable list of features has not translated into an easy sale.

The property has reportedly entered contract four times since May, with the latest agreement representing another effort to complete the transaction.

It debuted on the market at $19.5 million in January 2025, later fell to $15.8 million and has now been reduced again to $14.8 million.

The current figure is about 24 percent below the original listing price, before any additional bargaining with a potential purchaser.

A weekly report issued by Douglas Elliman’s Eklund-Gomes team identified the pending deal as the second-highest-priced residential contract among 13 Miami-Dade County homes listed at $4 million or more from October 5 through October 11.

The six-bedroom Miami Beach property is asking a whopping $14.8 million, although its latest price tag is a considerable comedown from the $19.5 million it was listed for in January 2025

At 528 Lakeview Court, the gated property offers amenities that go far beyond those found in an ordinary luxury home

Combined, the contracts represented $101.2 million in listed residential value, down from the $169.7 million recorded across 17 deals during the previous week.

Homes in the latest group had spent an average of 192 days on the market, indicating that even luxury buyers with substantial budgets are proceeding cautiously.

Whiteside bought the residence for $7.3 million in 2016. At its current price, the property is listed for more than twice that amount.

Joel Lusky of The Brokerage South Florida Real Estate, LLC, and Jordan Karp of Jordan Karp, LLC, are representing the listing.

Lakeview provides a relatively private corner of Miami Beach, offering a more relaxed residential atmosphere than the city’s most heavily visited areas.

Water views, convenient boating access and proximity to Miami Beach restaurants, retail and shoreline attractions give the neighborhood both seclusion and connectivity.

That combination may have suited Whiteside during his time with the Miami Heat. The 37-year-old, seven-foot center played five seasons for the team from 2014 to 2019 and became a commanding force near the basket.

He went on to suit up for the Portland Trail Blazers and Sacramento Kings before concluding his NBA career with the Utah Jazz in 2022.

After leaving the NBA, Whiteside returned to professional basketball during the 2025–26 season, joining the Shanghai Sharks of the Chinese Basketball Association.

He built his NBA reputation on elite rebounding and shot-blocking, and was selected to the league’s All-Defensive Second Team in 2016.

Now his former Miami Beach home is looking to deliver a winning result of its own in the luxury property market.

For the buyer able to meet the $14.8 million asking price, the estate offers a private waterfront compound with a pool, movie theater, rooftop entertaining area and dedicated space for boats and watercraft.

Whether this latest contract finally leads to a completed sale remains uncertain, since the property is pending rather than officially sold.
