As California Counts the Vote, Bill Essayli Bats Down Conspiracies, While CA AG Rob Bonta Furthers Them – RedState

UPDATED [9:42 PM Eastern, 06/06/26]: FA US Attorney for the Central District of California, Bill Essayli, shared a concise addendum to his Friday X post, in a new post Saturday evening, on what info is and is not helpful to fraud investigators:

It read:

If you have witnessed potential election fraud, we want to hear from you.

People have been contacting our office wanting to provide information. We have established a dedicated email address for this purpose.

Email tips to: [email protected]

Please do not send rumors, theories, or second-hand information. We require direct evidence. Examples of what to report:

• A ballot arrived at your home for someone who has never lived there.

• You were told someone already voted in your name.

• You witnessed someone filling out ballots for others without their knowledge.

As RedState reported on Friday, First Assistant United States Attorney for the Central District of California Bill Essayli took to X to discuss the vulnerabilities in the California vote counting system, and said, in part:

…”my office has multiple election fraud investigations underway in coordination with @FBILosAngeles. We will follow the evidence wherever it leads and prosecute any violations of federal election law to the fullest extent.”

After Essayli posted this, several influencers and grifters started throwing up inaccurate information and fake claims about what was happening to the vote count, specifically in the governor’s race and the Los Angeles mayor’s race. Essayli stepped right in on Saturday to debunk one that was gaining particular traction:

There was a claim circulating on social media about an election night ballot update at the Los Angeles Registrar of Voters where one candidate received zero votes.

We reviewed official county records. The claim is false. Each candidate received votes in every update.

My office will continue monitoring the election counting process and will follow the evidence wherever it leads.

California citizens, particularly the ones who have seen firsthand how the sausage is made over those 30-plus days of counting, are relieved that someone other than them is paying attention. As stated in the article linked above, whether this changes the landscape for the June 2 primary remains to be seen; but the fact that the election apparatus in California has come under intense scrutiny is the first step to enacting change. And as Sam Cooke so beautifully sang, “A Change Is Gonna Come.”

In response to Essayli and President Donald Trump pulling back the curtain to expose the state’s unorthodox voting and counting patterns, CA state Attorney General Rob Bonta (D) decided he would pretend he’s on top of all this. On Saturday, Bonta appeared on his preferred propaganda network, MS NOW, to debunk what Essayli had communicated.

Bonta was also put on his heels when U.S. Attorney (USA) Robert Renner showed up at the Los Angeles County processing center to tour the facility and observe the vote counting operations. Bonta did not like this one bit, but not accommodating the USA would have looked even more terrible.

Bottom line, they are running scared. Not only is implementing Voter ID on the California November ballot, but the highly suspect things that Bonta, CA Gov. Gavin Newsom, and gubernatorial candidate Xavier Becerra have done to disenfranchise voters are about to come out in the wash, and they know this. So they do what they do: obfuscate, lie, and accuse honest brokers of what they themselves are guilty.

After “The Weekend” show host asked about Bonta’s response to Trump’s and Essayli’s claims, she wanted to know how he handled the visit from the USA at the vote tabulating center.

Bonta first did a song-and-dance about how voting is fundamental, it’s the right from which all other rights flow… yada, yada, yada.

He continued:

“Voting only works when voters can exercise that right without interference, intimidation, and fear. And Trump, unfortunately, has tried to impose interference, intimidation, and fear, time after time, and we are going to protect the integrity of our elections, the safety, security, accuracy of those elections.”

Sure, Jan. Because California and its weeks-long vote counting, ballot-harvesting, and vulnerable ballot drop boxes and voting centers — which get looted and broken into on the regular — ensure all of these things.

Bonta discussed the visit from USA Robert Renner, giving the appearance that a government official, especially from the Trump administration, was only there to squelch and intimidate.

“So, when the Trump administration sent a federal official to L.A. County to inspect the vote-counting process, we set a monitor of our own to be on the ground, to be there, to be present, to observe, to ensure there was no interference or anything inappropriate. And so, we had an individual there, and that was important that we did, we did that during Prop. 50 as well, the election back in November, when the Trump administration sent monitors, we had observers to observe their monitors. And with respect to the statements by the First Assistant in the Central District of California, about some of the investigations that they say they are engaged in. There are no details, there is no specifics, there is no specific allegation of any individualized act of voter fraud. And every count, recount, hand count, court case, and audit has shown, time and time again, not just in California, but throughout this country that there is no widespread voter fraud. It is only a figment of the imagination of Trump and others who follow that conspiracy theory.”

So, that woman who fraudulently registered the homeless on L.A.’s Skid Row is a figment of the imagination? Bill Essayli seems to ask here.

And what about that Pakistani citizen who lived in San Joaquin County, CA, and voted in the 2020 presidential election? Is that also a figment? Let’s go nationwide: How about the Chinese national who voted in MI in the 2024 presidential election? Also a figment?

Those are just a sampling of the examples that have been in the news. The problem is more widespread than the politicians want to admit, yet they are still blocking the SAVE America Act. Think on that.

In the meantime, what is a figment of Bonta’s imagination is that he and his corrupt wife, Mia Bonta, will be able to skirt their dirty deeds. As stated earlier, a change is gonna come.
