Whoopi scores $40k goodie bag and notorious rapper parties with bevy of women: Behind the scenes on Hollywood's glitziest weekend

Before Hollywood’s biggest stars arrived on the red carpet for Sunday’s Oscars, celebrities gathered at a packed schedule of exclusive parties and gifting events. The pre-awards celebrations offered opportunities to socialize, unwind and receive thousands of dollars’ worth of complimentary products and experiences.

DailyMail.com received an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at several of the weekend’s events, including where Chris Brown partied and where Chris Rock dined ahead of the Academy Awards.

Hours before Hollywood’s elite made their way to the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, a source told DailyMail.com that Chris Rock was enjoying breakfast at the legendary Chateau Marmont with a group of male companions.

The 60-year-old comedian later made his first appearance at Vanity Fair’s Oscars afterparty since the infamous Will Smith slap three years ago. Rock attended Sunday’s star-studded event with his 20-year-old daughter, Zahra Savannah Rock.

As Rock dined at the celebrity-favorite hotel—where a bagel and lox costs $30—staff were preparing for the Netflix Oscars afterparty.

The Chateau Marmont also hosted Jay-Z and Beyoncé’s Oscars afterparty, which drew guests including Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet.

On Saturday night, A-listers stayed out late at exclusive parties across Los Angeles before the awards. The Hills was particularly lively, with fans gathering outside gated mansions hoping to catch a glimpse of their favorite stars.

Chris Brown, Amber Rose, Bruno Mars, Landon Barker and Shaboozey were among the guests at Darren Dziencio’s annual pre-Oscars party, presented by Utopia at the renowned Sheats-Goldstein estate. The property is estimated to be worth $75 million.

The stylish event benefited Global Empowerment Mission LA Wildfire Relief and was sponsored by El Cristiano tequila. Guests also enjoyed a DJ set from Diplo.

Amber arrived with long blonde hair and looked almost unrecognizable, while her rumored former fling Chris Brown partied at a separate VIP table surrounded by several women, an insider told DailyMail.com.

According to the source, Brown was “getting touchy all night with one mystery woman in particular.”

“Chris was paying the most attention to one woman who had curly black hair and appeared to be in her 20s. She was wearing a miniskirt and a halter top.”

“At one point, she put her hands on his face as if she was about to lean in for a kiss, but he was careful not to be photographed kissing anyone because there were photographers inside the party,” the insider said.

“It was very obvious they were very into each other, and they were seen holding hands and smiling from ear to ear.”

Alongside the weekend’s pre-Oscars parties, Los Angeles hosted a series of gifting lounges. This year, however, the events focused not only on complimentary trips and products for celebrities but also on supporting people affected by the devastating fires.

Beginning Thursday, Oscar nominees were invited to Enchant, a gifting lounge presented by The Marianna Group in partnership with Kiss My Paws Animal Rescue. Guests received a two-night stay at Laguna Beach’s luxury La Casa Del Camino hotel as well as an exclusive artwork by Canadian artist Dean Stanton.

On Friday, celebrities including The Office’s Kate Flannery and Iron Man’s Shaun Toub visited Debbie Durkin’s annual ECOLUXE Film Awards Luxury Lounge at a Beverly Hills residence. The event benefited Los Angeles fire victims and firefighters, as well as Marley’s Mutts Dog Rescue Ranch.

Guests were offered portrait sessions with celebrity photographer David Christopher Lee, culinary creations from Chef Denise Smith, 30-minute body-sculpting treatments by UltraSculpt CEO Dr. Joanne Jiang and B12 injections from Drip IV Therapy.

The VIP experience also included a voucher for a complimentary luxury ride from Lima Concierge, valued at more than $1,000 per day.

At the Beverly Wilshire, GBK Brand Bar, MEND, Bodywell and KC Chic Designs partnered with Americares to host their annual pre-Academy Awards Luxury Lounge.

Invited guests received more than $40,000 in luxury gifts, including gourmet food from California Caviar Company and wine-infused jams by Jam Vino. They were also offered trips to destinations such as Turks & Caicos through Sailrock Resorts.

Whoopi Goldberg, Tom Sandoval, Lance Bass, Christopher McDonald and Neil Patrick Harris were among the celebrities who attended the suite and had the chance to participate in a “Giving Suite” supporting victims of the Los Angeles fires.

At the Luxe Sunset Boulevard hotel, Nathalie Dubois hosted The DPA Diamond Lounge, an event famously attended by Meghan Markle years ago. This year’s lounge showcased 32 international brands across five suites.

Tess Mann Atelier offered celebrities a selection of elegant gowns to borrow for Sunday’s Oscars red carpet, while Yacht Club Access provided yoga and activewear designed for post-awards comfort.

Dubois Pelin and Associates donated space within the gift suite to This Girl Walks Into a Bar, a cocktail mixers brand owned by two sisters, one of whom lost her home in the fires.

Pearson Brothers Winery also hosted a pop-up tasting, allowing guests to sample its sparkling wine made with wildflower honey.

At The Godfrey Hotel Hollywood, Cynthia Bailey of The Real Housewives of Atlanta was among the stars who attended the second annual Gurus Magazine pre-Oscar Retreat, presented by Derek Warburton.

Guests were treated to spa services including massages, facials and Botox.

Alongside the self-care treatments, attendees could support Habitat for Humanity by painting messages of hope on ceramic seedling pots for families moving into new homes.

Guests received items including PoolBar London sunscreen ahead of its US launch, ethically produced contemporary jewelry from Astor & Orion and Ilcsi natural skincare made with organically grown European ingredients.

Los Angeles was also filled with Oscars viewing parties on Sunday, including Charmaine Blake PR’s event at the Sofitel hotel and Jonathan Baker’s gathering at his Beverly Hills home—the iconic estate once owned by Warren Beatty and Annette Bening.

The party, attended by stars from Netflix’s Sweet Magnolias, honored the late legendary actor Donald Sutherland with the French Riviera Film Festival’s special Icon Award. The award was accepted on Sutherland’s behalf by Zaib Shaikh, the Honorable Consul General of Canada in Los Angeles.
