Tara Reid has never hidden the fact that she smokes, so the American Pie actress drew little surprise when she was seen lighting a cigarette in Los Angeles over the weekend.
The 50-year-old was photographed smoking during a break from signing autographs at The Hollywood Show convention in Burbank on Saturday.
Reid opted for a relaxed look, wearing black tights with a gray tunic cinched at the waist with a Gucci belt.
She had her own booth at the event, meeting fans, signing memorabilia and posing for photographs.
Other celebrities appearing at The Hollywood Show over the weekend included Tatum O’Neal, Linda Blair, Barbara Eden and Ann-Margret.
Although the New Jersey-born actress is most closely associated with her role as Vicky Lathum in the American Pie films, her career has also included a wide range of notable screen projects.

Reid landed her breakthrough role in the 1998 cult favorite The Big Lebowski. She later appeared in the hit slasher Urban Legend and the dark teen drama Cruel Intentions alongside Sarah Michelle Gellar and Ryan Phillippe.
Her additional credits include Josie and the Pussycats, Van Wilder, Scrubs and the Sharknado movie series.
She is next set to appear in the vertical drama series Murder Mystery Party.
On November 23, 2025, Reid said she believed a stranger had drugged her after she consumed just one drink at a hotel in Rosemont, near O’Hare Airport in Chicago, Illinois.
A hotel employee called 911, and Reid was taken to hospital on a stretcher. The incident was recorded in a video that later went viral.
The episode attracted international attention, but three weeks later the Rosemont Police Department said it was closing its investigation after finding no evidence that Reid’s drink had been spiked.

Police did not state that Reid’s account was untrue. Instead, officials said there was insufficient evidence to continue investigating.
‘We are not saying that [Reid’s] claims are false, however at this time we do not have evidence to support it and there is nothing further on our end to investigate,’ police told TMZ in a statement.

‘Should additional evidence of a crime be brought forward, we will reopen the case and investigate accordingly.’
Reid said she felt ‘judged and bullied’ after police maintained that there was no video showing anyone ‘tampering with or adding something to her drink’ at the hotel.
Speaking to Us Weekly at the time, she said, ‘I’ve been honest about the fact that I don’t remember anything after my first drink.
‘All I said was that I felt something was wrong and that I felt I may have been drugged, because I have no other explanation for why I woke up in a hospital gown with no memory of how I got there,’ she continued.
‘Seeing the media twist my words and attack me for not remembering has been incredibly painful and is severely affecting my mental health.
‘I feel bullied and judged for something I cannot recall. I’m trying to heal, but the public scrutiny is making that very difficult, and I’ve been afraid to even leave my house.
‘No one ends up in the hospital for around eleven hours from drinking wine alone. I hadn’t taken any medication that day, and I know something wasn’t right.’
She added, ‘Whether I had additional drinks after that doesn’t matter, the fact is I don’t remember anything.’
